A great summer read!
I love this book! It was recommended by a friend and I couldn’t put it down! It is a well written, exciting story with lovely characters. I like a good period drama and this book swept me back in time while having a contemporary edge. I also enjoy a good mystery which this book has lots of! I can see why children will love this story but it has been a brilliant summer read for me too!

Fun read
Unusual story in an interesting setting, the main character is understandable and her actions in character. I enjoyed reading it.

Katie Watson and the Painters Plot...
Fantastic book with vivid description, despite being a timeslip novel, it is convincing and you feel like you are living the plot... Loved it, did not want it to end, luckily there are two more books in the series....Suitable for anyone age 11 or over... I am way over, I really enjoyed it, great book to have on a kindle as nighttime reading...

Fabulous
Really good story, kept me and my 9 year old entertained. Nice bit of history, a mystery and some romance. Can't wait to read the next book

I chose a children's book by mistake!
Well it was not what I expected, assuming when I bought it that it would be in the vein of Caravel, a book I had recently read on Kindle as it was recommended to me because I had read Caravel. I persevered with it as it filled my train and plane journey to Canada and I hate leaving a book unfinished. Judging by the age of our heroine, the book is probably aimed at the 10 to 13 y.o. age group and I should imagine would be enjoyed by most girls of that age. It involves mystery, time travel, friendship and ponies with a smattering of historical fact thrown in. I know it would have delighted me as a youngster and as a 50 something it filled the journey pleasantly enough though I suspect I won't be returning to read any more books in the series.

Very different and magical
Wasn't sure what to expect from this book. Such a strange title. So glad I tried it. It's a strange tale. Fanciful and somewhat childish in it's simplicity but if you're prepared to suspend belief it's a very enjoyable read.
