For years, I've been spot cleaning my aging cats' messes with old washcloths and carpet cleaner from a pump bottle. It took a lot of elbow grease, and I wasn't always able to get it all clean the first time. I purchased this carpet cleaning machine, hoping for a better way.TLDR: The Dirt Devil Portable Spot Cleaner Machine is compact with powerful suction and well thought out design.First, let me say that this is definitely not a carpet cleaner you're going to want for large areas. It's for cleaning small areas - cat vomit, spilled drinks or food, muddy footprints - and does a great job at it. It's quite compact, with the vacuum hose and power cord wrapping neatly around the unit. The collection reservoir is convenient to remove for cleaning and is designed so that there are few tight spaces to collect dirt. A simple rinse is all it takes. The tank for the carpet cleaner is small, but I find that I'm able to do three or four rounds of cleaning up after kitties before having to refill it.The suction is surprisingly powerful, so the carpet is left only a little damp after cleaning, and leaves no visible residue. After cleaning up several messes, I've examined the cleaned area with a bright flashlight and have been pleased to see no sign of anything left behind - unlike the washcloth and pump bottle days.My wife frequently observes that she thought the purchase was a waste of money, when I first ordered the Dirt Devil, but now feels that it was money very well spent.

I'm really impressed with the design of this, it is so easy to assemble, use and clean. All the parts click together and come apart easily but are still durable. The bottom slides on carpet without wheels and the hose cleaner works really well. You can clean every part in a few minutes and it stores in the space of a waste basket.The tank capacity is decent for a portable cleaner, a full tank shampoos about a 2x 4 rug before it needs to be changed out. The hose nozzle can require some elbow grease, it's a little uncomfortable to use for a long period. I ran the cleaner for about an hour to clean a bigger rug, the motor was up for it but I did have to change out the tanks several times.Works great, definitely designed for convenient spot clean up but not big projects.

Great Vacuum, excellent design! Compact, powerful, and love the tube cleaning feature that rinses out the tube so you don't have any unpleasant liquids left in the tube after cleaning up the mess. My one gripe: the trigger that dispenses cleaning fluid broke. It does not stop when you let go, but continuously sprays until there's no liquid left. I have to manually pull the trigger back up to get it to stop and even then, it drips. I got this in Nov 2023 & it's now April 2025. So it's been about 1.5 years...Today was the first time I encountered this issue.

Such a good little shampooer! I’ve had a few different brands over the years and this one is my favorite. It’s very light weight, easy to handle and comes with different attachments for different jobs. The size of the hand attachment is great for all sorts of spaces! The reason for my 4 out of 5 stars is for two seasons. The first being that the lid to the dirty water reservoir isn’t as secure as it should be. Secondly the button on the handle you press to activate the water sprayer gets stuck. Neither of those things affect the actual function of the shampooer. The suction is also impressive. Overall it’s great and the self cleaning option is my favorite feature! Would purchase again in hopes of not having the sprayer stick.

FUNNY STORY .I BOUGHT THIS TO CLEAN MY MATTRESS WHICH WAS IN A MUSTY STORGAE UNIT . YES I KNOW . WEIRD BUT IT GOT THE JOB DONE . IT WORKED WONDERS IT GOT THE STAINS OUT AND ALSO HELPED WITH THE ODOR . I CANT COMPLAIN I BOUGHT A SMALL TOOL FOR A BIG JOB . IT WAS VERY EASY TO STEP . I CURRENTLY USE IT TO HELP WITH FRESHING UP THE MATTERESSES IN MY AIRBNB.

This little machine works great. The suction is powerful and it's small and convenient. I've used it for cleaning up cat vomit from my carpet, as well as cleaning out my car. The shampoo canister isn't huge, but it's enough. Love this little product!

The set up was very easy it is light weight and compact and has very good suction. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it is to use. It even came with a small bottle of solution good for 3-4 tanks. Great deal!

Considering I bought this bad boy in April 2024, I got about exactly 1 year of use from it. Actually, I only used it about 3 times in that time frame, but all three times were great. At use #4, I turned it on to realize it no longer sucks (making it completely useless).Although it worked wonders, I’ll be buying a different brand because who wants to spend $100 for something that will break 365 days later?.
