One Little Golden Spark
One little spark. That's all it took for Imagineer Tony Baxter to create two theme park legends. Chances are those who have never ridden EPCOT'S Journey into Imagination before it closed will still know the names Dreamfinder and Figment. Figment especially has proven to be a beloved icon despite having not yet starred in a movie. Instead he's been at the heart of two theme park rides, headlined a best-selling series of Marvel comics, taught youngsters about the creative process in a handful of animated short films, cameoed in Inside Out and House of Mouse, accumulated five-hour wait times when his walk-around returned to the ImageWorks, and made a crap load of money off of popcorn buckets. Something he's set to do this year when he represents the EPCOT Festival of the Arts once more. Not too shabby for a character my friends foolishly label as a 'Spyro rip off'. For the record, our boy debuted in the 80s. If anything your puny PlayStation mascot ripped off Figment. Just saying, where's his Little Golden Book? XPSaid Golden Book is an adorable treat for the young and young at heart. Naturally this isn't a very thick book, meaning you can finish it in under a minute. In that minute you'll bare witness to gorgeous, colorful artwork depicting the original ride as it opened in 1983. Said artwork shows Figment and Dreamfinder repurposing ideas into new sparks of inspiration, utilizing them in the realms of art, literature, entertainment, science, and beyond. All set to the iconic lyrics made famous by the Sherman Brothers, albeit edited here and there. Nowhere is this more evident in the literature section. During the original theme park experience it felt like Imagineers were going out of their way to make their audience piss their pants. Sure, it wasn't on the same level as Snow White's Scary Adventure, Phantom Manor, or Superstar Limo, but it wasn't exactly The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh either. Here they keep the visuals of this scene, such as Dreamfinder playing a giant organ that spews out creepy words, otherwise the eerie lyrics were cut out. No idea if that was a mandate from Disney or a conscience decision from the author, but it's lame regardless. Let the children be traumatized you wimps! Heck, even science feels it's been cut down. Though to be fair, the scene back then was just of riders circling around the Dreamfinder as he directed our attention to screens of sciencey things happening, so I guess one could only do so much with that. Even then, there's details in the art I do enjoy. Namely references to Kitchen Kabaret, 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, The Orange Bird, and Trick or Treat. Honestly I'm only bumed in the fact that Inside Out wasn't included. It would've been a nice way of repaying what happened in the movie. Still, the best addition comes at the end when we see what exactly Figment did with the sparks he and his surrogate father figure amassed. I won't spoil what it is, but rest assured it's an insanely cute addition. Heck, if Disney ever wises up enough to bring back this ride, I legit want them to add this in! Overall this book was truly inspired.

Good Books
I remember reading golden books when I was a child and we now have well over 100 of them that my Grandsons read constantly. They always are asking to be read a story, and these are long enough and short enough to do a perfect job. Thanks Golden Books

Must Grab For Figgy Fans!
I bought the Figment Little Golden Book for my cousin, who is Figment's biggest fan, and it's absolutely adorable! The illustrations are vibrant, capturing Figment's playful spirit perfectly, and the story is just as whimsical and fun as the character himself. It's a great addition to any Disney fan's collection, especially for those who love Epcot and the Imagination Pavilion. My cousin was thrilled, and it brought back all the nostalgic feels. Highly recommend for Figment fans of all ages!

The classic version of this ride LIVES
Beyond the reading level, I would say this is a whimsical and beautiful must-own for any Disney fan family. Especially if you are old enough to remember before the current version of the attraction, this book has clever Easter eggs of other Disney rides that fit into the fantastical aesthetic of the Dreamfinder’s air ship, see if you can spot the rocket to the moon and the Nautilus! I’d rate 15 stars if I could. Give us a Big Thunder Mountain book next!

Absolutely adorable!
We are huge fans of Figment in our household. It is always been one of my favorite rides at Disney world, and I have loved it since I was a kid. When I saw this little Golden book, I knew we had to get it for our son to add to our Disney collection. It is absolutely adorable! The images are beautiful, the story fits very well with the original dream finder ride, and we loved singing along as we read it. I would highly recommend this to any Disney fan! It is one of our new favorite books to read to our son!
