House of Brass Polished Chrome 8" Doctor Door Knocker - Bolt Centres 120mm

Very good

Superb and good quality, weighty and lovely. The supplier, House of Brass, do this in 6" version as well as this 8" one. Gives the front door some gravitas. Not a tinny, hollow cheap product ...this one is solid and makes a good deep sound too. Template is great too for installation ease. I installed it on my daughter 's front door so if you want to see a pic of that door with the knocker thereon then go to www.ellwoodglos.co.uk and choose the case study option on the top tabs then choose the Victorian door project. Very nice larger than expected

Great quality

There are several things I like, such as the way the knocker looks, and it's a weighty item and made from solid material. Be warned; it's heavy and makes some noise :)However, the reason I'm deducting two stars is that there is a lot of horizontal play (pivoting around the vertical axis) in the knocker whereas I would have thought it would be designed and engineered to have a smooth up and down motion only. For the price I would have expected a smoother action.

Similar to what's available in local stores were it is much dearer. Seems good only time will tell if tarnishes

Good quality solid door furniture

Just hold this in your hand and you can tell its really made well.Good instructions including a template for fitting.My only reservation is that it is quite big but the size is at stated.Sometimes you cannot visualise how something will look until it is up.For sheer perfection if there were a 6" or 7" size in my opinion it would look better on my door.Overall I am delighted.
