No pigeons pooping on my front porch any more! Easy to assemble. I used zip-ties (separately purchased, not included with the bird spikes) to attach the spikes to a 2-foot piece of wood - makes it very easy move the spikes around as needed.Keep a good grip on the metal tines when installing on the metal strips, otherwise the springy action will make them fly across the room. It's easy to get the hang of it after you've installed a few.Note: The metal "spikes" aren't sharp, so there is no cruelty to assorted critters and varmints. The spikes are blunt yet still uncomfortable & inconvenient enough to keep the pigeons away.

Assembly required - I thought I was a "tough old bird" and scoffed at someone's suggestion to wear gloves while assembling. Ha! Um yeah, I recommend it now too. They're not for "poke prevention", instead consider you're squeezing together metal prongs to 1/2 inch spacing that really want to be at 4inch spacing, and then squeezing and wiggling and adjusting to poke them in the metal strip holes, and push them through to the other side... about 100 times!That said, ASSEMBLY IS EASY, but my the pads of my fingers were so very sore the next two days, and Im no stranger to working with my hands.After reading several reviews, I opted to use twine to fix these in place, tied to decking cross beams. They are used on top of the crossbeam space under my deck to prevent robins from nesting on the paired 2x12s at my back door again. I wish them luck on finding a new home, just kindly, not at my back door.

Had a woodpecker pecking at the house. Placed two of these at the area and it did not work. The woodpecker came back and made a huge hole. The unit turned on and charged well. With a larger animal, such as myself, I heard the high pitched screetch when I passed by. It charged itself everyday but didn't keep the bird away. There also aren't any mounting holes. Only mounting on the stake.

With the frames vertical on a pole and the spikes horizontal, our squirrel uses the spikes like ladder rungs to climb into our bird feeder. The spikes are a potential hazard to human eyes if you walked or fell into them. These have kept squirrels off the horizontal top of a heat pump, so I've had partial success. Nicely made, and no rust.

Used these on a fence pole to keep raccoons off roof. Works great. Easy to put together but time consuming. Easy to install.

Works perfectly. The only reason for a 4 star instead of a 5 is because there was no option to purchase a smaller amount. I only needed about 10% of what I purchased.

I purchased three extra to surround my house so my cats can look outside without some cat coming up and giving them fleas through the screen. The devices do require good sunlight to keep the batteries charged. As some areas of my house aren't that sunny, I rotate them. It's spring and the tom cats are coming a'calling. They used to spray their calling cards on my doors. So far, none of that. I see them milling around the neighbohood but not coming close to my house. Works for me!
