Awesome, light easy, stay lit
Good for campfire or indoor fireplace or wood stove. Easy start up. Accidentally found these at a near'ish campground. Lady told me they must work well because one local man comes buy just to buy them. Stay lit even if they fall between the fire logs, which is unlike some other products. Need knife to cut, but just sit down and cut a bunch in half - maybe that's cause my grip is not that strong. Maybe breakable by hand if a stronger person. Size is great. I cut mine into four peices and often use just two to get my wood stove going. Best value for money is buy the bigger box - can share with someone else or store over the summer.

Great product.
These are great fire starters for the money. Easy to use, you simply take of wrapping and light. They light easy and because the size they burn a long time making starting fires a breeze even if the wood isn’t completely dry. Good size and works very well. Will buy again.

Fantastic! Light Perfectly Every Time
This is my 2nd order of these firestarters - Love them! Unlike others I've used in the past, these light quickly and reliably every single time. I use these in my fire pit & ceramic grill. They are easy to break apart & are a great value.

still burn great but recent version is a bit crumblier than they used to be
I have been ordering these for years, they are great for lighting a fire without any need for other kindling - they burn hot clean and scentless, long enough to light whole logs. However, my most recent order is disappointing - they still create the necessary heat and are functioning ok. But something has changed in the recipe because instead of breaking into neat pieces they are very crumbly so part of the puck is lost when I try to break them into smaller pieces.

How many do you need?
We used 36 rounds this last year starting our wood stove in the Upper Valley region of New Hampshire. That's approximately 144 starts using a quarter round per start. Rarely do we use more than a quarter round per start. Rarely do we keep the coals hot around the clock; the house is well insulated. So, we average about a start per day from the end of November through April. Your needs may vary, but a quarter round should start a wood stove. Try Super Cedar in a small quantity, see how it works for you, and then buy based on how many starts you anticipate. Works well; second only to road flares and gasoline!

Easy lighting
I’ve purchased these before and they work great in my wood stove with both regular wood and compressed logs.

Quicker to burn than my husband's cooking.
I'm not really a fan of lighting the wood stove as I really hate having to sit there and watch to make sure the fire catches. Happily enough, a quarter to a half of one of the firestarters is more than enough to light most of the fires. Unless you're like my husband and like to use lots of paper, cardboard, and lighter fluid. He really needs to try these. Really. It's a time and sanity saver. They burn well, clean, and don't stink of hardcore waxy crud.
