needed to connect two RJ45 connectors that network different instruments on a boat, wires had to be cut & re-terminated to fit through an opening. These replaced several attempts at various other F-F connectors that had all failed to maintain a solid connection. While it is inside the boat so waterproofing was not required, this is well made and very solid, connection has been reliable and robust, and the fact it's waterproof is a nice bonus. I'm a network engineer so I have extensive experience with networking gear, and while it's only been installed a month my experience tells me that this unit feels like something that will be reliable for many problem free years.

Starlink Ver #1 end is two large.NOTE: a waterproof box does not account for interior condensation, see photo above, mine looked the same. interior condensation can still be a problem that needs to be addressed.

Installed as instructed. Was concerned that the "waterproof" connections did not seem to be a good fit around the cat 5 cables. First rain and cam stopped working. Connections were corroded and there was water inside. Would NOT buy this again.

I have a direct burial CAT5 cable from the house to the barn that some critters thought was tasty. Rather than run a complete new line I used a pair of these with a jumper to bridge the gap after cutting out the chewed section. This time going to lay that section in some PVC to give an extra layer of protection.
