My 11 year old couch recliner cable broke after many years of making me comfortable in “my spot” on the couch. There was no way I was going to be satisfied with moving “my spot” to another part of the couch and I would not tolerate my feet staying on the carpet like some barbarian. My only solutions are to buy a new couch for $3000 or try to replace the broken cable. I choose the 2nd option. CBTone cables and Amazon to the rescue. After ordering the cables I had to endure a whole 2 days of sitting with my knees bent at 90 degrees and my feet touching the carpet. How do people do this?!Once the cables arrived, I flipped “my spot” over to give me access to the broken cable. In about 20 minutes (most of which was getting the old cable off) “my spot” was reclining again & I was happy with my toes in the air once again.I bought the two pack from CBTone for a few reasons:1) They are the correct specs for my particular couch2) They were the best price3) They work perfectly once installed4) My 11 year old couch has 2 reclining sections and one just broke so the other is probably not far behind. No one should have to endure sitting when reclining is an option.My suggestions to you before you buy these particular cables:A) Flip your couch over & make sure your couch has the “S” shaped end. If not, you will experience total dispair for ordering an “S” end cable when you really need a “D” shaped loop end.B) While the couch is flipped over take off the old cable so when the new one arrive it will only take about 5 minutes to install.C) Understand that while your cables are en-route and your reclining couch is temporarily acting like a NON-reclining couch you will experience increased stress levels and you may not feel like yourself. Once you install the CBTone Recliner Cables all those psychotic thoughts will become muted and life will proceed as usual or even better than usual since you just overcame a traumatic event.

Unfortunately, the 'D-ring' handle for these cables eventually becomes separated from the braided, stainless-steel cable and breaks off, due to metal fatigue. This is probably my 3rd repair on my old couch, as I like to elevate the footrest while watching TV! This is easily a 10-15 minute job...not hard at all, in my opinion! One must take some care to estimate/measure the total cable length, to avoid coming up short!

Overall the product is well made and easy to install. I did notice that the handle is made from softer plastic than then original from my couch. However I dont think it will be a issue.

Have 2 couches with 2 recliners each. 3 of the recliner release pull D handles broke with no way to repair. Friend said Amazon. Found what I thought I needed. Reasonable price - - several alternative choices. Delivered on time. IF, IF the @#$%*&^ couch cushion was removable or NOT Exactly in the way of the screwed in piece, I could have done this myself in 30 minutes. The worrisome snap-in piece was a perfect fit, along with length, pull, & throw. Needed a neighbor standing on 2 pieces of oak to wedge the cushion out of the way to get to the screws both in & out. Half hour each with alot of sweat. I left one old one still swinging in there. They work fine. I'll update on their longevity.

Because I ordered the wrong cable .I asked my husband before it was ordered and he said yeah, sure. Then he refused to put it on the recliner for what 5-6 months...... it had the wrong thinger on the end that attaches to the whatever. I needed a closed round end and this wasn't that. Fortunately, he paid for the next one since I could not return this after so long.... husbands... pffft
