looks great works great
looks great works great, though do your home work first make sure you have room inside the tower (esp) if you have a small form factor tower might be abit of a squeeze!

SAVED ME BUYING A NEW MOTHERBOARD!
I used this for a simple old PCIe card. Works really well and never had a single issue. SAVED ME BUYING A NEW MOTHERBOARD! Bargain!

A sound piece of kit. Unfortunately the combined depth of my X16 low profile graphics card and this X1 adapter meant it wouldn't fit in my tower. The low cost of this adapter made it worth the gamble!

The product has limitations that are not clearly specified
When I read the previous reviews I was sure I found the solution to my problem which was the connection of a 3rd pci-e x16 VGA card to my motherboard which has only 2 x16 slots. So I bought the product and tried to connect an ATI radeon HD5450 into a x1 slot through this adapter. Unfortunately, it didn't work as expected. The 3rd VGA never made it. The system didn't even recognize any device connected. I addressed the problem to the company's support [...] and I spoke to the live chat with an advisor. The following is a quote from what he typed to me: "The reason that the video card will not work with the PEX1TO162, is due to then bandwidth that the Video card requires to function. The PEX1TO162 is designed for use with device that do not require max bandwidth, like serial cards, and USB cards" and later in the same conversation: "Graphics cards that are not x16 based will work with the adapter. For example HD 4350" in addition "The card will work with X1, X2, X4, X8 and X16 based cards, however this is limited to the minimum bandwidth that that connecting card will require to function, so not all X2, X4, X8 or X16 cards will work with the PEX1TO162" and finally "It's more on if the bandwidth across the card can be compressed to a X1 level" I haven't yet tried an older VGA in the range suggested (4350 etc). When I have I will come back to comment some more. UPDATE: I tried an ATI RADEON X1600 256MB but it didn't work either. The slot is working properly because the fan of the card was working but still the VGA was not recognized by the system, as nothing was connected there. I finally returned the product.

Not a bad word to say, really.
As far as I can tell there is virtually no degradation of the power of the graphics card you install, which makes it a must have if you're looking to upgrade an old motherboard.

pcie adapter card
bought pcie adapter card and it does not work on up to date motherboards as i have found out put it into an old mother board and it worked graphics card i bought it thinking it would solve my problem with ibis hsdl adapter card as they work of pcie x16 slot but did not even find it so it was a waste of money for me but would suit peoples old computers for extra pcie x16 slots

I needed a way to add a graphics output to an already full server. This allowed me to attach a low profile cheap graphics card to the only 1x slot I had left. Now i have video output when needed on the cheap.

Had it running about a week now. So far nothing has caught on fire, despite having a fairly beefy GPU plugged into the thing. GPUz reports that it's happily running at PCIe 4.0 (x1, of course), but since the GPU'ss workload isn't exactly IO-heavy, I've no idea how stable that is. My only complaint is there isn't a good way to mount it to the case, but I'm not sure that would even be possible without interfering with whatever you're plugging into it.
