Great amp at a great price
It is a Marshall and will give you most of the sounds of a JVM, which I hope to own one day. Dollar for dollar you can not get a better Marshall tube head. It gives you the sounds you want and you can get them all at low volumes. This amp sounds killer and gives me all of the sounds I am looking for. I wanted to get a Marshall years back and was talked into getting a different amp twice. Once I was talked into getting a Seymour Duncan convertible Half Stack and once into a Messa Boogie Cabinet. Both were mistakes as it did not give me the sound I was looking for. The Seymour Duncan was suppose to have modules you could switch and get any sound from Fender to Marshall and in between. It was a big mistake. The fact that they are not still making amps shows how big a mistake that was. This amp sounds great and has the Great Marshall Tone and some great clean sounds as well. Give this amp a test if you can. Just love this amp and love Marshall Amps in general. In the 80's most of the metal bands used Marshalls. For me I love the sound of tube amps and this amp sounds great.

The Entire 60-Year History of Rock Guitar At Your Fingertips
Wow - this is a great, great amp! Initially skeptical because of the whole Made in Vietnam thing, but now I'm a believer. It's everything you expect from Marshall, and more. No matter how old you are, 20's or 50's, this has all the guitar sounds you grew up listening to, from classic overdrive of the 60s to modern cascaded gain stage full roar. And beautiful crystal clear cleans too. 2 channels, Classic Gain and Ultra Gain, have 2 modes each. So between the 4 modes - Clean, Crunch, Overdrive 1 and Overdrive 2 - you really can find any guitar sound that you can find on any recording of the last 60 years. An unexpectedly useful feature for me is the Tone Shift, which re-configures the amp's EQ for more of a modern "mid-scooped" sound made popular by Mesa/Boogie in the 90s. Don't worry about "Is it insane to have a 100 watt Marshall in my bedroom?" The amp is actually great sounding at low volume, even with a 4x12, and much more manageable than my Marshall Origin 50, which is deafening at even the lowest power setting. I read a few reviews of the amp failing - all I know is if something is defective it will probably fail right away, and I've used this almost every day of the 2 months I've had it, and I couldn't be happier!**************** UPDATE ****************** UPDATE ***************CHANGING ORIGINAL 5 STAR REVIEW TO 1 STARWell I guess I jinxed myself by writing a 5 star review and talking about how other reviewers said amp failed but I’ve had no problems. The very next day after writing review this amp stopped working on low power setting - tubes lit but no sound at all. For whatever reason, IT STILL WORKS FINE ON HIGH POWER SETTING, but it doesn’t matter - broken is broken. Return window closed 3 weeks ago so now I have to figure out how to repair this thing, as if a bad design can be repaired haha.

Bought it. Love it. Best Bang for you buck if you want a Real Marshall Tube Amp
I currently own 2 Marshall DSL40CR Tube amps, and wanted to consolidate my gear. I'm running out of room. Bought the DSL100HR. Couldn't be happier. Amazing amp for a great price. Highly recommend. I run my in stereo with a JCM800 2203x The Dream is Real!

od 1 and 2 channels are muddy
It is a Marshall , and it can do Marshall things , but the od 1 and od 2 channels are muddy . They are that way on every one i tried . Its a similar channel setup as on the MG solid state series . Nice clean, nice crunch - but the od channels are muddy .It is a great platform amp for mods though . You can have work done on the preamp to tighten it up. Get high quality preamp tubes - and have someone mess with the gain structure as well as high end cut and clarity .Now the JVM410 - is a different story . The JVM410H has 6 channels ( albeit some do the same thing but are for setting diff gain levels ) but all of the channels sound really good . Typical Marshall good. The od 2 on this amp can get to mud level ala doom sludge if you want , but it can stay crisp at lower levels .The older dsl's , the $1200 retail heads were really good . If you know a good tech these can be fixed up easily but it might just be better to get the JVM series .This is just a heads up if you are buying without trying.

Cheap now, expensive later
I've had my DSL100H about 5 years. Very low hours of use, and now i'm looking at paying at least $130 for new power tubes and new fuses, because a tube blew taking the mains fuse with it. Now this could just be a faulty tube, but upon further investigation, these type of problems seem pretty common on these mass produced Printed Circuit Board designs where people have reported things like bias drifting, voltage leaking across traces that are drawn too close together, cold solder joints on tube sockets that are directly soldered to the PCB, etc. Just bad design and cheap components. And you cannot even replace the fuses (which there are 2-3 different rating sizes) without taking the chassis out. Don't get me wrong its not a bad sounding amp, but i feel you will only be costing yourself down the road because an amp tech will charge you even more to troubleshoot, disassemble & correct the design flaws. Get a hand wired clone and thank me later.

Great product and great service
Came 3 days early. Packaged extremely well and not a scratch on the box. Love the amp. Power supply hums a little but over all an excellent amp.

What I expected and more.
Played the first live show with this rig and sounded awesome. Plenty of power without sacrificing tone.
