Tactical Pen - Model TP1-01 Red

Some tactical pens, honestly MOST tactical pens, are ridiculously overpriced. To me paying anything over $20 for one borders on ridiculousness. This pen, for the price (ESPECIALLY if you can get it closer to the $13 price point vs. $20 - and I've seen it move between those two points within 24 hours) is an amazing value. Pen is heftier than I expected- in a good way. It feels solid, strong and tank like in hand. A quick twist of the bottom and you're writing and writing smoothly at that. Comes well packed with an additional ink cartridge and the cartridges are a common brand that are easily found and inexpensive. Has a glass breaker point on the top and, while I didn't test it, I can tell you that how many of us actually might need to break glass but I'll say this pen as heavy as it is in any persons hand and swung at an assailant is definitely going to be felt and could be a very useful and go anywhere basic self defense item. Is it a knife? No. But like I said, especially for a woman or someone that works in an office where they don't think they can get away with packing a pocket knife (I work in one and have two designed to kill knives on me at all times but not everyone is comfortable with that or can get away with it) having this pen can't hurt. We'll see with time how the finish wears- some of these finishes look like crap after awhile and some wear and look in some respects better so who knows. I will say sitting on ones desk or clipped in ones pocket the pen looks amazing and it a nice conversation piece as well. In short- simply a fantastic pen for a fantastic price. For $20 it's a good deal, for $13 or $14? It's a no brainer- you might even do well to buy multiples either for you or as gifts- these would make GREAT gifts especially for grads or colleagues at the office. 5 stars and highly recommended.

Everyone should have one of these in their vehicle. They are the best at breaking auto glass, there a pretty good last resort weapon too

Well built. Nice, aggressive knurling. Very strong and sharp glass breaker. But because the glass breaker is so sharp, it’ll stab you in your thumb if you’re using a thumb reinforced ice pick grip. You can put your thumb over the pen part and use the glass breaker as the striking surface. That would be less uncomfortable. The pocket clip sticks out about a 1/4” so you can probably rest your thumb there. As a pen it’s like every other tactical pen. It works but you probably wouldn’t want to do a lot of writing with it. It’s top heavy and the fluted part is slippery and fairly large diameter. But for jotting stuff down seems fine for that. I haven’t had it very long so can’t speak about the durability of the pen part but I’m pretty sure the tube will last forever.

This pen not only looks amazing, but it is surprisingly light-weight and ergonomic. I was initially concerned that such a bulky pen was going to be more useful as a novelty rather than as a serious writing implement, but those concerns quickly disappeared when i started writing. The pen is very comfortable in the hand and nimble. I like to write in cursive and this pen easily flows on the page. So far the ink cartridge is smooth and consistent, and the pen comes with a spare ink cartridge which is cool. I am military with years of experience writing in the field in various operational environments using different kinds of writing implements with different types of gloves. Although I have not yet used this pen with gloves on, I can tell that it will be quite easy to use in the field with gloves. And the sturdy construction leaves no doubt that his pen would be quite durable in the toughest conditions, even combat conditions. I highly recommend this pen to anyone looking for a sturdy field pen or looking for a unique, functional writing implement for around the office. I know that I will be buying more of these.

Man, this thing rocks! I would not want to bring it to a gun fight, but it is damn sturdy and I can tell it can take a beat down of over size proportions and still function. I cannot think of a realistic scenario that would seriously damage this pen. I would rather this in my hand than just my fist as it can be used in multiple ways to inflict serious pain and maybe create a opportunity to get away. It is big, so its not like a regular pen that flies under the radar. It writes fine, but nothing can help my lack of penmanship. Its a damn fine pen and I cannot imagine a reasonable person being disappointed in this product.

Im ex military and work for a fire department, i love this pen. I carry it everywhere i go whether I'm at work or not. This pen is solid and writes beautifully. I can not believe that is pen is less then $20 i would have easily paid $40 for it. The end of the pen would easily punch out a window but is also sharp enough to enter through skin and muscle with enough force, it wouldn't take much to injure someone with this. I literally feel safer carrying this. The company is amazing. They have contacted with a couple emails one before it shipped telling me thank you and once i received it. I was able to get a coupon that the company sent me, i will be purchasing another one for my fiancee. If you are looking for a tactical/self defense pen and are worried about which pen /company to go with...............look no further because you have found the company, now just pick out which pen suites your needs. Pen is too light in weight. For the price, you get what you pay for.
