It’s clear the knowledge comes from real experience. What’s also valuable is how the book opens your eyes to the many different types of disasters that can happen. Thanks to it, I’ve realized how important it is to learn basic survival skills sooner rather than later. Honestly, all this stuff should be taught at school.I really appreciate how the book emphasizes involving your family in your preparedness plans. It’s a great guide to kickstart your survival prepping. Please, don't wait until something really bad happens.

Great survival/prepping guide for beginners
Bought this book mainly for the aspect of post-disaster survival because we have been hit by several hurricanes over the last decade and find each time that we are woefully unprepared to survive a disaster. But this book opened my eyes to other scenarios which are realistic and not only possible, but very likely. So I guess you can say I'm officially a "prepper." And as David Savage points out in his book, I should have started yesterday. But this guide is a great start. This book definitely made me realize how far behind I am to the prepping game, but it's also encouraging to know that I'm not alone in this scenario. I like that the guide gives practical advice without being overly "preachy" which I have found in other survival guides. The author seems to have lived the prepper lifestyle, so his accounts are lived experiences, not something he read online or saw on a TV show.I think I would have liked a few more pictures or diagrams, especially when talking about planting and shelters, because that's an area that I feel I'm most lacking in knowledge. But I do appreciate that it's an all-encompassing guide that not only deals with surviving in the woods (if you are that desperate) but also bugging out to a cabin or relocating your family to a self-sufficient homestead (which is my ultimate goal if I'm being honest). Thanks to David Savage for a clear, concise guide. There were a lot of things I thought I knew that I really didn't understand and he cleared some of those misconceptions up for me. Great survival/prepper guide, even if you don't think there's gonna be a TEOTWAWKI scenario, every area of the world is susceptible to natural or man-made disasters. Knowledge is power and this book has a lot of knowledge.

Solid survival & emergency readiness resource
I was looking for a good emergency preparedness book and bought this based on the reviews since many said it was concise and informative without a lot of fluff. Overall, I found this to be true, and the book offers lots of practical advice on how to prepare for and deal with emergency situations, even if they’re not quite end-of-the-world-as-we-know-it scenarios.
