Secured my table casters perfectly

Solid steel
Very well made and heavy duty steel sockets. Hole is a snug fit for the chair casters I will use but that is a good thing.

Dimensions in the picture are exact
So me being dumb, I drilled out a hole and a slot for these mounts. I used the photo with the dimensions as a reference. I set myself up for failure. But the photo is very well detailed, every bit of the photo is exact. So it worked out perfectly. These are very sturdy and thick metal, I bet they will last longer than the wheels, and the wooden cart I put them on. These will probably last longer than your house. I bet in 50 million years our ancestors will find these scattered around the ground, along with twinkies cockroaches and Nokia phones.

Good quality but a bit expensive
I needed to replace the casters in my old This End Up kitchen chairs. The problem with these chairs is that the stress of the caster pin on the wood tends to crack the wooden legs. I bought these and drilled out the hole in the chair legs to 9/16”. Then I coated these with JB weld both on the male insert into the chair and on the disk with the screw holes in it. (I couldn’t use screws because this was a bit too big and the screw hole placement was too close to the edge of the wood. ) 9/16” drill was perfect and made for a snug fit. I tapped these in with a hammer and installed the casters. Then I let it sit for a couple of days to let the JB Weld fully cure. Well the results are tight and strong. I rolled around on the chair for about 20 minutes and I am 6’4” 330 lbs. The casters, wood and sleeves remained rock solid. I recommend for their quality. I do think the price is a bit high though,

very very strong, accepts 7/16" standard wheels
I am rebuilding a Mabef easel. It came with dinky little double-wheel plastic casters with a 1/4" stem and plastic inserts. I wanted to replace/upgrade to inline skate type wheels (2") and I needed a solid base to install them into. These hat sockets were perfect for this.

Solid, well made.
Probably the first hardware item I’ve bought from Amazon that wasn’t Chinese junk. All were the same, square, heavy and strong.

Easy to install with a 9/16" drill bit
I installed 4 of these into 2x3s of a wood dolly. Three of the friction stem castor wheels inserted with the expected modicum of effort; however, one of them require some pounding with a soft rubber mallet. Experimenting with switching wheels around showed it was a problem with the the '4th' wheel stem friction lock. That said, I wonder about the tolerance variance between these and other friction stem wheels.

Solution to Adding Stem Casters to Your Project
These heavy duty broad brimmed top hat caster sockets are perfect for installing grip ring stem casters to virtually anything. Most recently I used mine on a roll-around file box for my office, however, I also used them for an upgrade to my portable generator too. They sockets accept standard 7/16" x 7/8" grip ring stem casters and they can be retrofit to just about anything. My generator is the two-wheeled variety which often times makes it difficult to pack tightly with other machinery when not in use. With a couple of casters added to it the problem has been permanently solved. The next time I need to install casters I will most certainly purchase a set of these sockets again. I have had the best luck with them and you will too.
