Honestly... I only purchased this to hit my same-day shipping total. I figured I'd use it eventually. So let me tell you how genuinely surprised I am that I like this lip balm as much as I do. And I'm not a lip balm person. Nor a fruity-cosmetics person. But this stuff is just... actually good. First of all, it's genuinely moisturizing. I have chronically dry, cracked, flaky lips that I'm always JUST keeping at bay. They have actually improved dramatically using this product. I never made a conscious effort to use it regularly - I just liked it enough to do so without realizing it. Then I woke up one day and noticed my lips weren't still garbage. It's the right amount weight - without feeling like you've globbed on petroleum jelly. It's the right amount of "sticky" to stay put - without feeling like you're peeling your lips apart to speak. I use it overnight, and when I wake up in the morning, I can still tell it's there - without feeling like there's something to wipe off my face. The aroma is actually pleasant - without demanding your attention every moment. It's definitely noticeable - but it's not as intense as products that I've tried in the past. It's not so strong that your mouth is watering at an overpowering sour/fruit smell. But it's actually nice enough that I find myself pursing my lips toward my nose to periodically get a sniff. 😂 I'm a regular e.l.f. customer. I appreciate the brand in general (good products, prices, ethics, PETA/Leaping Bunny certified, etc., etc.). But I figured... it's lip balm - it'll be fine but... whatever. And yet... I'm reaching for this every day. Multiple times a day. And not because of the rebound-dryness, lip-addiction that has been reported by other brands - just because it's enjoyable. Great product. Great price. Great company. Great surprise.

If you're looking for a lip balm with a hygienic applicator and glossy finish on a budget, this is it! The sheer tint is very subtle. I liked the grape scent (flavor), but if you're sensitive to or particular about artificial scents, YMMV. It is a bit sticky and I would not describe it as sensory friendly, but as someone who doesn't like lip gloss due to its stickiness, I find this milder than most I've tried. The formula doesn't feel drying and I appreciate the skin-loving ingredients. It's not going to do the same work as a petrolatum-based formula, but if you don't like petrolatum, this feels like a nice alternative, and certainly in a cute and convenient package compared to tins, tubs, and twist-up tubes. I'd give it 4.5 stars if I could; dropped one partly due to the stickiness of the formula and partly due to the fact that I get better results from a less expensive product with a petrolatum-based formula. Depending on your preferences, this could easily be a HG for you!

So I bought this because I am really coming to love elf products. I don’t wear much colored makeup, I am however a huge skincare junkie and very picky about the quality of my products. If they irritate my skin or don’t work well, or sometimes if they are just overpriced and a less expensive product works, I won’t recommend them. I will drop money on an amazing product, but I find very few really expensive products to be worth the money. I’ve used it all from very expensive Sephora to Walmart. I’d rather my skin look clear and smooth than be wearing foundation and colored lips and eyes. elf products have really been impressing me, and I use the more expensive lip balm that this is supposed to be a dupe for. I do love the expensive product so I thought I’d see how elf compares and here it is. This lip balm is great! It moisturizes nicely and smells and tastes good. Its moisturizing effect lasts as long as the other brand. It is a very worthy duplicate. I will keep these for sure, I am delighted at the price. The tube comes half full (by design) but at this price, cannot complain. It is not an exact quality duplicate of the pricier lip balm and it almost feels the same but you can detect the difference. However, it is very nice. And 100% it moisturizes well and feels nice. I didn’t find any negatives or issues and while I still want to keep one of the pricey ones on hand, I would buy several of the elf balms in different flavors rather than buying many flavors of the pricey one because these are THAT good. For this price I can keep one of every flavor, something I would not do for the pricier one, for that one I choose which ONE I want. elf is affordable to own them all. This product is very nice and I am glad I tried it, I am very impressed with elf. I find that for dupes elf is not exactly the same but I have never been disappointed with an elf product, I also use their brow gel and eye makeup remover. I look forward to trying more elf products, and I am definitely going to use this lip balm. Great product, great price, feels good and keeps my lips nicely moisturized without being too greasy or drying. So worth the money and seems to be very good quality.

I wanted to find a new lip balm and accidentally stumbled upon a Tatcha dupe. The Elf lip balm is very, very similar to the Tatcha kissu lip mask in thickness and how it feels on the lips. So a great way to save some coin if you were looking for a drugstore option. I took one star off as like the Tatcha, it is thicker than what I would want for day time wear. Don't get me wrong, this is a great, comfortable balm that you can't beat for the price. I have long hair though, and when it's windy outside, or I'm sipping on my tea, these balms become a minor nuisance as things stick to it. The balm is not horribly sticky, but just enough tackiness that it wouldn't be the first thing I would grab for the day. Night lip mask, definitely. It's all what you prefer though so I do recommend. The color and scent are very subtle, and the Elf balm has no taste.
