Take a look at this photo of two identical rope chains side by side. One is the gold plated Lifetime Jewelry “24k gold plated” 3mm 20 inch rope. The other is a gold filled rope of identical size. Which one looks like gold to you? Take a guess….yep you can see it plain as day. The plated one on the right looks like faded rose gold almost, like the plating has already begun to fade. I’ve never seen such a poor quality plating job from the factory. I would never wear this out. Keep in mind I just opened both of these packages and set them beside each other. The filled one will last a decade or more with care. Yes, it’s double the price, but it’s only $100 bucks for a chain that at least looks like real 10k or better. This chain is 5% gold, it’s not plated, it actually has a sleeve of solid gold that is bonded to a jewelry grade brass core. It won’t rub off, it won’t fade like plating or turn colors and tarnish. It’s just like a hollow gold rope but stronger because of the core which allows them to make the gold layer thinner. Don’t waste your money buying plated junk over and over, save up if you have to and get the gold filled chain. You’ll thank me later.

White gold? Idk about that. Less than 2.months after purchase and the plating is wearing off. All of the shine is also gone. For $58 I expected a LOT more.Edit:. The company got in touch with me after this review and sent me a replacement. We will see how long it holds up. Changed review to 4 stars due to customer service.

Honest Review:This is the third chain I have bought from Lifetime Jewelry. 3mm 22” / 3mm 20” / 4mm 22”!!! I RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT !!!The reviews about it fading is real. There is a noticeable difference when it’s new and after a few months of wear. I would say after about 6 months you will need a new one. Here’s the deal…. You want a gold chain that is never going to fade? Then go spend $4,000+ and you don’t have to worry about it, or you can just replace these once every 6-12 months. You get what you pay for. Me personally… I’d much rather buy these ‘fake’ chains, and replace them every 6 months. They can be stolen, misplaced, break, and much more.You do the math $50 x 40 years = $2,000 (still half the price of a real one. You can buy ‘fake’ ones for 80 years for the same price of a real one.Just buy it… it’s $50 and will beat any chains gold plated chains you see locally including Macys, Belk, Zales, etc..*still haven’t done a warranty claim just because I’m too lazy lol, so I can’t speak on that*Ps. This chain has been great! The look and everything was perfect. However it’s been five months and it’s broken! I really really wanted my husband to enjoy this a little longer because it was the perfect size and length

This chain is an incredible buy! I originally purchased it in 2019 and have worn it every day since then. It looks fantastic, feels great, and wears nicely. For the price point of this chain, its easily the most value for your money. I did notice that after four years of wearing it daily and exercising in it that the gold on the outside of the chain began to turn more of a steel metal color. The company lives up to their motto of lifetime jewelry as I was able to mail it into their office and receive an exchange chain that looks exactly like the day I received the original. Easy process and great customer service so I highly recommend it.
