Highly recommended - The work of a genius
A well-presented collection of the works of this creative and enigmatic writer. A must read for those interested in the literature of this period.

A good read not great though
Not all stories are that great or interesting to read - I prefer the novels, the short stories are some how not that appealing and you really need to push yourself through especially the repetitive

Heavy going
I've often heard the term Kafka-esque and thought it was about time that I found out what it means (by reading his works). Afraid I've read a few of the short stories and can read no more. Boy, is it heavy going. And I'm not entirely sure what the point was, of the stories I've read. I just found myself confused - especially when one story started with a rambling sentence that was half a page long and that, despite reading it 3 times, I had no idea of the meaning.Am I missing something? Others clearly love his work and proclaim his genuis. I'm afraid it just feels like he was of his time and, try as i might, I can't get my head around it.

This is really weird stuff
Not for me! This is really weird stuff. I thought I ought to read it, to be able to form an unbiased opinion, but truly, I think the author seriously needs medical attention. There is enough weird in the world, (and nasty, and cruel, and distressing) without promoting an author who is being lauded for adding to it.

Poor translation
Really really bad translation. The original should be written in German and I was extremely excited to read Kafka. And it is on sale for 0.99$. The quality should not even be published. They don't give a damn about the readers.

Melancholy allegories
Kafka's stories, often incomplete, are melancholy allegories, claustrophobic and at first sight pessimistic, but not without a subtle satirical humor. They are not so much the products of a troubled mind as an antidote to it. I have read Kafka both in digital and paper formats, and I prefer to read him on paper. The physicality of holding his books in my hands and turning their pages somehow adds to the quality that makes them "Kafkaesque".

Good value but not well formatted
Has a lot of Kafka's works as advertised but is not well formatted and it's sometimes hard to find a specific book

Why?
I've not read all these works by this unknown foreigner. Yet. I haven't read them all yet. I'm being hounded. Everything was ok. Now I've been arrested. I don't know what's happening. Why are you asking me to write this?

Did not like
I know he was the darling of the modernist left, but I disliked his stories and style. Gave up and deleted it all.
