Good product, well priced
Packaged well but not excessively with recyclable materials. This is a well proven and popular product which is priced competitively (cheaper than my local retailer)

Gentle, effective, and easy-dose—solid remedy for fin rot, wounds, and tank recovery.
This bottle’s made to handle mild bacterial issues—natural tea tree extract that treats fin rot, ulcers, and open wounds without hammering your biofilter. Geared toward freshwater setups with sensitive fish or planted tanks. Doses clean, smells herbal, and doesn’t cloud the water. Works well in recovery setups—post-transport stress, minor injuries, or when fish start showing signs of wear. Ideal for van stash, pet kits, or home aquariums where you want low-impact treatment. Bottle’s easy to measure, and the 473ml size lasts through multiple rounds. Best used with good aeration—MELAFIX can reduce oxygen slightly, so keep your pump or air stone running. 👍 Pros ✅ Natural formula—tea tree based, gentle on fish ✅ Treats fin rot, wounds, ulcers, and abrasions ✅ Safe for plants and filters—no harsh chemicals ✅ Easy dosing—clear instructions on label ✅ Large bottle—covers multiple treatments 👎 Cons ❌ Mild strength—won’t fix severe infections ❌ Herbal scent—noticeable during dosing ❌ Needs aeration—can lower oxygen levels

Definitely helped my poorly fish .
Bought this in hopes it would help my young Koi that just hasn’t been well since it was gifted to me 3 months ago . I had no idea what was wrong & we have no aquatic vet close by so after googling symptoms in great detail & doing some research it kept coming back as bacterial infection. I’ve had my other fish 20+ years & never had to use any chemicals in my pond or treat any of my fish .. Decided to give melafix a go & im really glad I did . I isolated him in a tank & im currently on day 6 of the treatment . He’d been bottom sitting in my pond for weeks , he’d never come up for food at feeding time & he spent 24 hours a day hiding behind my pond plants . As you can see in the video I took yesterday he’s now swimming around perfectly normal & happy , Ive been using koi flakes to feed him whilst he’s in the tank (usually use MediKoi) & it’s the first time I’ve seen him eat since he fell ill . The melafix also cleared up a red bloodshot patch he’d got underneath his body within the first dose of treatment . He’s not stopped swimming around & playing with the bubbles from the air stones 😂 I’ll be gutted when I have to put him back in the pond . I’d definitely recommend this stuff . I thought I was gonna lose my fish he was so lethargic & unwell but it took just 3 days of this stuff & I saw positive signs . Just to add , it did make the water go incredibly cloudy and my koi did start rubbing a bit against the airstones which can be a side effect to using melafix . I did a 25% water change and added 2 tablespoons spoons of pond salt , this helped with any irritation / stress .

From lifeless to spring chicken - read my review and view images
Our fish was showing signs of septicaemia with blood spots, scales peeling away, very lethargic, not eating and fins that looked damaged beyond repair, so after a full tank change with 24 hour settled water, all plants removed to prevent further damage from brushing past, I followed a set routine of daily treatment using this treatment, within 2 days she became more active, and obvious signs of repair were visible, blood spots were disappearing and her fins were slowly starting to move more freely. It’s been 10 days and apart from the damaged scales on her side that are still healing, she’s back to herself, swimming, begging for food every time she sees anyone, safe to say my son is super happy that he’s not got to say goodbye to pepper just yet. Can’t recommend this product enough, well worth the money, the size was plenty for what I needed, but I’ll just continue to use it bi daily for the next few weeks to ensure that it is fully treated and doesn’t come back. And because she’s eating again equivalent to a St Bernard ( if we let her ) there’s less debris in the tank so the tank has stayed clearer. Also I’ve just noted that pre treatment her back was arched and looked so poorly, today she’s back straight, able to buoyant herself easily. I have attached pictures from day 1 to day 10 to show the difference. Absolutely superb result.

working with Moving bed pond Filters
Hi There I have used this to treat my pond but have come across an issue that I think you should know about with regards to moving bed filters on ponds which use K1 media. I have been running a new K1 filter system which is settling in. I have been running this filter system alongside my old filter system for a 1500 gallon Koi pod. The K1 and K3 that I have been using in the new filter system had settled in after 3-4 weeks and I had a good turn over of the media without it floating on the surface water of the filter boxes which meant the bacteria had started to establish itself. I had one fish in the pond who had a sore which I decided to treat in the pond with Melafix. I calculated the dosage for the pond and applied it. But every time I dosed the pond my K1 in the filter box became boyent again and started to float and over spill the filter box. At first I thought I had added to much media so just cleared up the media and put it to one side with some media still turning in the filter. I dosed the pond again and it happened again. I stopped dosing the pond and the media settled down again in 48 hours so I added back the media again and let it settle for 6 days. I then decided to test the Melafix again by dosing the pond again and the same thing happen again over night. So I can confirm that the Melafix seems to be whipping off/clearing My K1 media of bacteria. The product itself seems good and I saw improvements in the fish I was treating but I would strongly recommend taking the fish out of the pond and treating in an isolation tank if you are using a moving bed filter system that is using k1 media which is just establishing itself with bacteria. Not sure if the treatment would wipe out the bacteria on a fully established K1 moving bed filtration system. There is nothing on the bottle that inform you of this apart from turning off UV's and avoid running carbon filters when using this treatment. I would recommend you test the treatment using a moving bed filtration system which uses K1 which is moved using air rather than water flow.
