This thing has a ton of vehicle monitoring features
I initially ordered this thinking it would be a replacement for my handheld OBDII scanner. After setting it up for my car, I'm thinking I may go a different direction with it.Initial impressions and setup:The construction seems to be of a good quality. It's a smaller form factor so I assume it's designed to just live in your car's ODBII port. I left mine in there and it's not noticeable unless you are looking for it. Once you plug it in, you are required to download an app that works for Android or IOS to operate. That is done via a download from the manufacturer website. A QR code on the box gives you the shortcut. I'm an Android user and you do need to make sure your securities are setup to sideload third party apps (AKA you don't get it through the standard app store). That was super quick and there's a quick setup process where you can create an account to save your data. When I say quick, I mean under 5 minutes. There is a pictogram that tells you the broad strokes, but you aren't supplied with any paper instructions. Some may find that disappointing. I have no issue with that after seeing how easy it was to setup.Operation:The app seems intuitive enough. You do have the option to setup a record for your car based on the VIN number. There's a dashboard on the main page that displays engine coolant temp, battery voltage (both of which are unfortunately not displayed on my dash in my Subaru) as well as vehicle speed and RPMs. From there, you have options to run trouble codes, a diagnostic service function, obtain real time data, a way to save trouble codes that might clear up on their own, fault indicator detection, O2 sensor monitoring, as well as some other functions. There's a lot of functionality for the same price as standalone code reader.Which brings me to my initial point. I bought this to replace a stand-alone code reader. It absolutely has the ability to do that. However, after seeing what all this thing could do, I'm leaving it connected to my car. Should I need to run a diagnostic code on my wife's car or for a relative, friend, etc. then I'll use my stand-alone reader. The port on my Subaru is tucked up almost at the firewall and seems a little flimsy (or at least the area around it seems to move around a lot). I think I'll leave it where it is.All-in-all, you get a lot of bang for your buck, and I definitely recommend this product.

Neat little bluetooth OBD2 scanner
This device is a neat little OBD2 diagnostic scanner and monitor for your vehicle. When I first received the package, I though it must be empty, it was so light. The device itself doesn't inspire much confidence, it seems flimsy and inconsequential...however when you download the free app, plug the scanner in and get it connected, it does all that you'd expect, and perhaps even more.It can provide real time monitoring of many functions like speed, RPM, and fuel consumption. It also monitors the full gamut of diagnostic codes. The device is very small and intended to be plugged into the vehicle diagnostic port and left there to use when you want. It can obviate the need for a handheld scanner. This OBD2 scanner is very easy to install and connect with the app (which is downloaded from the device mfg website via a QR code) The scanner provides an easy way to evaluate the current status of a vehicle and can easily be moved from one vehicle to another if so desired. I'm very happy to have this device and I do highly recommend it.

couldn't get it to work at all
I don't know if it was something I was doing wrong or if I got a faulty item but I couldn't get it to connect no matter what I did. I'm very tech savvy and couldn't get it to work. I even tried contacting the company with no response.

Easy to use
I was recently in the market for a new used car and wanted to be able to see if there was anything wrong with it before purchasing. I picked this up so while I was on my test drive I could check to see if any faults could be found. I know sometimes they like to unplug the check engine light at the used car dealerships so you don't know there's a code to be read. So I took this with me for peace of mind. I didn't find any codes on any of the vehicles I drove. The app was easy to navigate and it shows you way more than just if there is a code. You can check water temp, oil pressure, pretty much anything. It's a great little gadget.

Great diagnostic tool!
Finally got around to hooking this up in my car. Easy setup. Tries to steer you in the direction of setting up an account, but you can use this as a guest without giving your personal info. Graphics are really nice on this and the info provided seems accurate and useful.Only small negative is when I turn my phone sideways it doesn't rotate the screen to a new view. This is seems to be strictly a vertical view. Not a big deal I suppose, but am mentioning it to you in case it is to you.Really solid little devices works well.Easy 5 out 5 stars!

Great Value and Features
So many of the cheap OBD-II readers you find on the web are cheap because they tie you to a proprietary, and expensive app. While this one does have it's own app, I was able to successfully get it to connect and work with a number of other apps on the Apple App Store. The device itself is basic - it's plastic and kind of cheap, but for what it needs to do for a home user it doesn't really need to be rugged. It provides all the features of more expensive readers, and the software includes the ability to read codes as well as show live performance data. All in all it's a nice tool and a good value for the home user.

Flimsy Fell but Powerful Tool
The Diabit Bluetooth 5.1 OBD2 Scanner is an absolute must have for your automobile diagnostic purposes. The in-hand feel of the scanner is a bit comical and "toy'ish" as it is crafted from cheap plastic. However, the functionality pays of BIG in the operations department. This is a full featured OBD2 scanner that is simple plug and play into your vehicle. There is also a companion app that helps you to truly diagnose all issues, performance, and codes that your vehicle may flag. The companion app is very intuitive and requires you to register the device in the app. My only concern was this app is a direct download from the QR Code URL and not one that exists on the Android/Apple App store which draws concern but nevertheless in my download and testing proved to be just fine. This is a great buy and certainly a must have to assist in troubleshooting any issues you may come across with your vehicle.
