Research, stories and first person insights set it apart
John's book is perfect for people who don't want the zombie goal approaches of the 20th century, like the Law of Attraction, which promote one-stop easy click goal accomplishment. As expected given his military background, he understands that a life of passion is a life filled with passion, purpose and grit, and he quotes much of the research that supports this thesis. This is a good book for people who want to approach business and life with more risk-taking, but I have minor quibbles with the sheer number of male examples that fill the first fifty-plus pages of the book - something we have all gotten used to because that's who has typically dominated the industry of motivation and success, and especially if you come from the military. If you aren't on top of the research on women and agentic behavior, you might not even notice this, but I would have preferred a balance presentation of men and women throughout the book, along with the research on how women who have big goals and who act agentic pay a social price and have less ability to achieve their goals. This can be pardoned because you have to be very current on this research and be obsessed with the topic of goals to know this, but the more we understand that what works for men doesn't always work for women, or from cultures other than a White perspective, we can create more successful strategies. One more missing piece: Goal Setting Theory is completely missing, which always is mystifying because it's the seminal research on the science of goal setting, and very few people know it but everyone should. Overall, though, this is a step up from most books of its type, which is why it has won so many awards!

Amazing Read
This book is based on twelve powerful principles to achieve your purpose and ignite your greatest power. In this book by John R. Miles, you can overcome all the limitations that are stopping you from reaching your purpose and achieve your passion to achieve your goals. For this, he has given twelve principles through which you can achieve your goals, your passion and your dreams. The book is not so focused on financial stuff but it is about mental health and behaviour shifts, that allows you to become like the word says "Passion Struck" you with anything that you believe. I have been reading this book and just finished it, and i am going to say that i have never read a book before like this. The book is divided into three parts which part one is mindset shifts, part two is going to be behaviour shifts, and the last part is going to be basically putting those two things together and combining them in the phycological process of growth. And the best thing about this book is that at the end of each chapter he gives you specific ideas to go off based on what you read. Another thing is good about the book where the amount of good quotes that were in it. That are the collection of other famous people like Zen proverb says " Knowledge is learning something new every day and wisdom is letting go something everyday"

John R. Miles writes an interesting book about Passion and Purpose
John R. Miles writes an interesting book about Passion and PurposePassion Struck is an impressive book. This is the first I have read from this author. I found that I could relate in some ways to this book, especially when I wake up in the morning, my first mission is to be grateful that I woke up, and the second is to get dressed and make my bed. In reading this book, I at first thought it was another one of those books that give you a road map and tell you to do something in order to make your life better. That's not what this was, it's not a cookie-cutter motivational book. The author found a way to make the book readable, and also offer assistance in how to look at your life. This book is not a cure for what ails you, but it can help you find your purpose, your motivation, and your passion, which can make you want to get out of bed in the morning. It is a grand book, that I read at the right time for me. I think that no matter when I read the book, it would've been the right time. This book lists out principles, and guides you, and the one thing I can see coming out of reading this book, is looking inside myself, and it is something I do a lot. This book captures the reader's attention in chapter 1. Passion Struck is a definite recommendation by Amy's Bookshelf Reviews. I read this book to give my unbiased and honest review. Amy's Bookshelf Reviews recommends that anyone who reads this book, to also write a review.
