Handcrafted in the USA with durable stitch-down welt construction and premium quality leather, the Iron Ranger boot from Red Wing will offer years of comfortable wear. This robust boot is built on a non-marking, oil-resistant sole and handsomely detailed with contrast stitching, a cap toe, and high polish hooks and eyelets.Dear first time buyers, Red Wing Shoes tend to run larger than your regular shoe size. Please take this into consideration when purchasing a pair. Please note, in the manufacturing process, staples are used to adhere the insole to the plastic last. These staples may penetrate the surface of the insole leaving small holes and pushing up a small amount of the grain of the leather insole. Care instruction-Use warm water and a soft bristle brush to remove stuck-on dirt. Then use a clean, dry cloth to wipe away any remaining excess dirt

Amazing beautiful boots !!!
I bought the 8119. If you're in doubt about buying these because they're so expensive and you wounder about it's quality, don't be. They are exactly as described. Well built, perfect material. But be aware of 2 important issues that everyone discusses.1. Size - I went down a full size ! I am a 44 EU in all of my boots and sometimes I need to go up, not down. My sneakers are 45 EU. So I went for 11US/10UK/44EU. It was way too big ! And I compared them with my other boots and they were bigger than all of them !!!! I went down a half size but still it remained bigger so I ended up ordering 10US/9UK/43EU. Maybe the problem is with the conversion, cause usually 11US is a 45EU not 44EU. The shoe last is perfect. My toes don't touch the leather end, and they have room to move. They fit like a glove !2. The break in period: For what I read, this model is much softer thant most. This leather is thick, resistant and soft to the touch. You put them on and they feel great, but you know you have to take it easy. Forget the idea to put them on and go for a long walk. I started wearing them around the house and go out for just short minute walks. After some time I would have to take them off. I'm at the end of the first week now and I can wear them on for a full morning or afternoon without complaints. No blisters whatsoever. A few more days and it will be over. Conclusion : There must be a break in period ! After that you're free to enjoy this excellent product !!!

Exceptional boot. Don't overthink sizing
From the moment you take them out of the box, the quality and attention to detail is obvious. I have received multiple compliments on them while standing around at the pub. They simply look outstanding. I also love the smell of new leather and they have that in spades. These are likely the best made boots I own.Sizing was my biggest concern before they arrived. They are comfortable but take a bit to break in properly. That being said, I've had no issues. I did not try the boots on before ordering but instead spent hours scouring reviews to determine the best size. My original intent was to size down by 1/2, per many reviews and recommendations, but then my actual sized boot dropped dramatically in price so I ordered those. I've never worn Red Wings before but I have worn boots my entire life. I typically wear size 10 UK but I have a similar pair of Grenson boots that are 9.5 and a Frye lace-up that is 10.5. I went with 10 for the Red Wing. It fits my right foot perfectly but is a little large on my left. I wear thick Smart Wool socks and I wear a thin liner sock on my left and have had no issues. I've been wearing them for two weeks now and will often walk to the market and back, about 5 kilometres. They are a tad narrow but are long and my left boot has 3/4 inch spare room at the toe. I bought some inexpensive leather inserts for both, which seems to have helped. No foot pain, no complaints. They are comfortable, look great, and make me feel like a man - a real man with hair on his chest, a deep voice, and who doesn't get the hiccups when eating spicy food. Yeah, I feel like that man. You can too. Probably.

Possibly the best Red Wing boots
This is my fourth poor of red wings and I think the best.I have a pair of Beckmans which are very heavy and have taken me 12 months to break in , but are pretty cool. They are more like workman boots, my chelsea boots and chukkas are good.I had my eye on the iron Ranger and eventually I have go them because of these being available with Vibram soles and the amazing colour. These seem to be made of a softer leather and didn't take long to break in. They are solid and look good, I have had them a week and I am always getting compliments on them. They will be hard wearing and already are very comfortable. For me they fit as expected, and don't rub anywhere.Highly recommended also are Aphrodite clothing from who I get these well within 48 hours of ordering, almost next day.

Great boots!
Very well constructed boots. These are made with superior chain stitching on the old Puritan machines. The leather is thick and tough and should take on a nice patina with age. I had heard that these boots are hard to break in but mine seem comfortable out of the box and will get even more so as the thick leather insole molds to my feet. I usually take a UK 11 but following advice I ordered a half size down and the fit is perfect.Would definitely buy again.

Will last a life time. Size down half size. Break in period important
These are quality boots. Well worth the price, will last for life.I wear a size 9, ordered an 8.5 as suggested and they fit perfect.Fair warning, the break in period is vigerous but stick with it. I'd also recommend ordering cedar tree shoes which I have in them in a picture (cheaper elsewhere online, don't buy the shoe trees from amazon or directly Redwing)

You need at least half size down
I’m wearing UK 8 on my boots. As many people saying half size down it’s recommended, I tough to order UK 7.5.But the description says “true to size”. After sending my size, the seller’s told me that UK 8 should be ok. So I got UK 8After trying them, I can say they were definitely much larger and couldn’t wear them at all.Unfortunately I had to return it and lose about £30 for this try. Not a happy experience that’s why I’m rating this listing 4 stars. The quality of the leather, sole and boots overall are exceptional in every detail. The best I’ve ever seen and I would give them 10 stars if I could.

Great quality, looks good, but watch the sizing!
These are classic Red Wing boots and they look really good quality out of the box. They do look a little bit too shiny and new if you like your boots a bit worn in and beat up, but give them time and search for images of worn pairs if you want to see how good they'll look in six months or six years.Sizing is recommended at a half size down from your regular size. I already owned a pair of Red Wing Harvester a half size downand had tried the Iron Ranger before so the fit is perfect.
