Great sword! Kind of like a sword with the weight of a club!
Superb sword, quality all around. Weighty, like a mace or club weight but with a sword blade. If you use it a lot, gives you a bit of tennis elbow. Wish it was a little lighter, but it is effective and sharp and looks great!

Impressive sword!
Will start with stating i am thoroughly impressed with this Gladius. This is a very heavy sword, so it's going to be a bit of a workout to swing and practice with (not a bad thing). So, I'll break down why I'm going with 4 stars and not 5.The sword itself is, again, quite heavy. This may be the heaviest sword I own now, which is impressive in itself. This should ensure that it would last a lot of pretty strong impacts and other things, so should work find. Blade is very dull, so going to have to sharpen the edge a bit, since this won't cut wet paper. Love the size of the sword, feels like a proper Gladius when I hold it!It feels nice to hold. I love the handle, love the feel of it overall, but the main problem I have is the sheath itself. For some reason, there is a quarter inch gap between the entrance of the sheath and the guard, when it should be resting on it (picture). Why is this an issue? Because the blade moves around in the sheath itself. If I were to strap this to my hip, that gap means it will be flopping around inside the sheath, making noise. While I'm not taking this sword on sheath missions, still nice to not have the sword moving inside the scabbard, plus that *may* dull that part of the blade as it bangs up against the scabbard. The scabbard itself, slight gap aside, is very nice. It's thick, so it'll last forever, but the first thing that is (likely) going to give is the cloth belt loop. It's thick, yes, but it will likely fray over time and break, and the part that wraps around the handle is a bit Meh.Overall, this is a great sword. Sharpened, this would be a fantastic sword, and the small gap is a negligible issue. But, due to dull blade and the gap in the slightly undersized sheath, that knocks 1 star from the overall review. Still, 4/5 means it's good, so I do recommend this sword to anyone who wants a Gladius. It's a cool looking sword!*addon*I was able to push the sword down into the sheath a bit, so was able to get it fully seated into place. Doesn't seem to have damaged anything, and the blade's tip remains quite strong. Still, not increasing the rating due to having to do this. People with less strength with compression will have issues doing that, so not advisable.

This sword is awesome
The company that makes this sword needs to put their time and effort into reimagining many more sword styles. I would buy many more if they made more.

"FANTASTIC" Gladiator Sword
"FANTASTIC" ! .Just a suggestion:The Plastic piece directly where it affixes to the Nylon Belt Loop. Maybe make it a little bit/Slightly thicker. And slightly more reinforced. Otherwise: As usual. The M-48 Product Is: "FANTASTIC" !.

Solid...but needs sharpening
The weight of the M48 Gladius Sword and appearance is WONDERFUL. I absolutely love it. Attention to detail. However, it's not exactly "combat ready". The penetrating point IS ready for thrusting, but the stainless steel blade with a two-toned black and satin finish needs to be sharpened. You could use it as a kind of baseball bat I guess. You know, in self-defense. Swing and thrust. It is not nearly sharp enough to slice through paper with much added pressure. There might be some law on the books that limit these manufactures. I don't know. But it is a bit disappointing. I'll figure out how to properly sharpen the blades myself, eventually.
