Great little gadget
Got this on 4th March 2020 so it's had a reasonably fair trial. Set up is simple and the app easy to install and use. It comes with the sim card already installed and we have stuck with it because the minutes included were sufficient for our needs. When I first turned the unit on and connected it to the app it showed a location somewhere in China and I couldn't seem to get past this, turns out you just switch it off and on again after a few seconds and it resets the location correctly. The app shows the battery level, current location, location history and events such and when it was connected to the charger. Entering the contact telephone numbers was straightforward and are easily changed. It has, you'd think, a simple charging dock but my mother in law was placing the unit into the charger back to front, even though I'd gone through it with her a few times before we went 'live'. Luckily you can check the battery level from the app so I knew there was a problem and it was easily sorted. Battery life would probably be 3 or 4 days but we've encouraged her to get into the routine of charging it every night so she doesn't have to check it. If the battery goes low not only does the tracker itself beep, but the app warns me it's low and all phones in the list all get a text saying the battery is low. I haven't set the fall alert at the moment but might do in the future. When the SOS button is pressed it sends a text to all 3 numbers saying 'help me' and rings the contact numbers in turn until someone answers. Included in the text is a link to google maps with the location of the tracker. The trackers SIM card telephone number appears in the calls list on your phone so you can save it and give it a name i.e. 'Debbie's SOS Tracker'. You can speak to the person when you answer the call and it's surprisingly clear although obviously not phone quality. There is a button on the side of the unit which seems to call the first contact number in the list if you want to call for help in a non emergency situation. I don't know if it will call other numbers in the list in turn because we haven't tried it due to the minimum minutes included in the SIM. If you wanted more minutes for this function you can put your own SIM card in quite easily.A word about the 5 star customer service. My mother in law misplaced the instructions and couldn't remember what the little flashing lights meant on the side of the tracker. I emailed the seller through Amazon asking if a copy could be emailed to me and lo and behold not more than 20 minutes later they replied with a link to the instructions. A good result I think. If you're considering this unit I would highly recommend it. If you have problems setting it up contact the seller. We've had no problems with it at all and the peace of mind is well worth the comparatively reasonable cost. It has given M in Law more confidence going about her day. She wears it on the lanyard around her neck and says it's comfortable and she feels safe knowing it's there. She never mastered using a mobile phone, even the very basic ones, so this little gadget has given us piece of mind.

Nearly Perfect
My 90 year old mother is living by herself, 400 miles from me. I needed a personal alarm for her but she was unwilling to have one monitored by a third party. Initially I bought something half the price of this one. I'd read the reviews of this other one which said it was difficult to set up, but being fairly techi-minded, I thought I could cope. It arrived - 4 hours later I gave up trying to set it up, poured myself a large drink and ordered this one.Initially I'd planned to use my own sim card, but after the hassle of setting up the other one, I decided that £8 a month was worth the ease of set up and not having to worry about remembering to top up the sim card. So I used the their sim option. 15 minutes later it was fully set up - that included downloading the software and a call to my brother to check he was happy being one of the emergency numbers. It was so simple I nearly cried with joy.Once I'd tested it, I sent it off down to my Mum. The fall alert seems to work - it went off several times en-route to my mothers as presumably it was being chucked around by Royal Mail.Tested with my Mum who is very hard of hearing - she could hear me fine - said I was faint, but she could hear what I was saying and I could hear her really clearly..So, why the 'nearly' perfect - there is just one thing that isn't even exactly the gadgets fault - it is not capable of differentiating between a human answering a call and an answering machine - so if it gets an answering machine, it does not call the next phone (this is made clear in the details sent with it).But otherwise, I can't tell you how impressed I am with this the purpose of an SOS for an elderly person living alone. I didn't really need the GPS bit, but that seems to work really well - I watched as the tracker went on its way to Mum's and could tell when it arrived there.Definitely worth the money (assuming it continues to perform!)
