SDNBHT Stair Railing Indoor

This is a solidly built unit and fits perfectly in the place of the old oak hand rail that has been in the house for decades. This went together quickly and was able to mark the holes for the wall brackets without trouble. It's a definitely a two person job to hold it up and make sure it aligned at a 45° to 50° angle. I took a tape measure and pencil marked the old hand rail brackets to provide a clear guide to match the new hand rail alignment. I kept the mounting Allen screws on the brackets slightly loose to allow adjustment to contact the wall on all three (3) brackets without sliding up or down the new hand rail. My only criticism is that it has to be measured at each end to find those end brackets and be equally spaced at 11.5 inches or 28 cm from the ends of the rail. It looks great and holds pull/shear weight of 450 lbs or 205 kg spreading across the whole wall brackets enough to allow two people to walk up or down without fear of it pulling out of the wall should someone slip and fall using the rail to catch themselves securely.

Bought 2 of these for a basement stairs renovation project and couldn't be more satisfied. They are super easy to assemble, and look great. Th e black metal look works perfectly with my gray walls and white stairs. My only complaint, which is super minor, is that sometimes if you are sliding your hand down them as you use the railing, the endcap can pop out. It only takes a quick second to put it back in though. Not an issue worth removing a star personally.

Excellent product and great price. My only complaint is the quality of the screws they provide. They are easily stripped (the heads). This is true if you are screwing them in wood, like a stud. Do yourself a favor and use a better screw.

One of the easiest railings I ever installed. Works great and keeps my friends from falling down the steps in the garage when they drink to much. So far no one was serious hurt

Simple & easy to install

This railing comes in two pieces and installs easily. It comes with all the hardware you need, but I suggest using better anchors than the ones provided. The metal feels slippery on my hand, and I’m afraid if I grab it during a slip on the stairs, I’ll just glide all the way down. It seems best suited for aesthetics and light indoor use.
