Make sure to order it in Amazon packaging!
Its a little smaller than the original, but just as impressive! Mine showed up in excellent condition. If you're a collector or plan on the packaging looking good enough to gift, be sure to order yours in Amazon packaging. Otherwise a label is stuck on the items box itself and shipped off.

An Ooze Scanner! A Brain Scrambler!
Owned the original many years ago, this is the exact same thing. There are a lot of stickers, many of these 90s playsets (especially the TMNT playsets and the Jurassic Park playset) came with sticker packets that provided colorful details. In the case of the technodrome, there are a bunch of small stickers that go on tiny square patches on the outside of the technodrome plus along the base. Its a minor annoyance. Another couple gripes is that the technodrome will not shut with the "brain scrambler" (turtle torture spinner) or the command center perch in place. Those two accessories will have to be removed and stowed.Other than those minor complaints, this is a pretty gnarly playset. It looks fantastic, and has some really neat stuff on the inside, like the Turtle jail cell, the weapons storage area, the "ooze scanner" retro-mutagen device. When this toy was new, kids could also purchase cannister of the ooze which was you're basic fake toy slime, and you would strap a turtle into the ooze scanner and dump the ooze on them. While this sounded fun in theory, doing so was a bad idea because the ooze was difficult to clean up and would damage the stickers, and leave weird sticky flakes that were near impossible to eradicate. The Real Ghostbusters Firehouse HQ had a similar gimmick where you could pour the Ectoplasm through a grate in the roof to "slime" the GhostBusters. The ooze hasn't been in production for years, and that is for the best since few would be willing to risk getting this fine toy filthy. There's a lot to love here, nostalgiacs are going to want this one.

I never had this as a kid and the prices for a used one on eBay are crazy so I jump on this when I came out. Overall pretty happy it’s a really nice looking playset and brings me back to the late 80s early 90s. Yes I know it’s smaller than the original but it does look great in my collection. The assembly wasn’t bad but the stickers are an absolute nightmare and took 2 + hours to put on with lots of tiny stickers and stickers that are hard to put on in tight spaces. My only real complaint and why I knocked it down a star was I paid full price when it came out ($80) but it’s already down to low $50s. Which would make it a GREAT value at that price point.

It is the Technodrome, what else do you need to know?
I think if we consider that making it slightly smaller than the original likely had to do with affordability and keeping the price point at $80, than we can better get over loosing an inch of play space here and there with this playset.I find the size is adequate for play while still recognizing that the original was superior in that regard. The eyeball feature is not an issue on my copy,The box art is beautiful and the assembly was worth the effort. It feels sturdy and the plastic doesn’t feel cheap. Mine came missing a piece called the mutation mat. I was able to E-mail Playmates about the issue and a replacement piece has already arrived! Great customer service from them!It is a must have collector piece and totally fun toy from the greatest action figure era ever!My turtles have been running amok all over this playset and it has not been put away even once since it arrived.I even let the kids play with it too sometimes!

Cool but...
It's much smaller than the original and not nearly as sturdy. Mine arrived missing the door. I guess it's fine as it will not be played with but I was hoping for better quality.

Not the same size, cheaply built
So was excited to get this , but when opened it up to start putting together did notice not the same as original, smaller and parts were fragile .. cant understand why you couldn't match the original size and make parts on it stronger. It's cool to have this don't get me wrong, but I would have paid $200 for the exact match of the original!

Takes a long time to assemble and put all the hundreds of stickers on
After the long time putting it all together, my grandson plays with it ALL THE TIME! He has old ninja turtle characters from the 80's from his dad and it all works great. He's not one to usually focus on one toy for a long period of time, but with this one he can't wait to get here and play with it and the characters most of the day!! He's 5.
