Wanted to rest my car battery and have something i can use for basic tests and this is fantastic. I love the auto function so no having to spin a dial to the correct setting it just works it out itself

This multimeter arrived in its own ‘Oxford’ fabric storage/carry pouch inside a sturdy, branded cardboard box that also contained 2 AAA batteries and a user manual. Obviously, this is at the cheap and cheerful end of the multimeter market so I wasn’t expecting too much from it but so far I’ve been pleasantly surprised. I have a good quality multimeter that I’ve tested against a friend’s calibrated one and it is accurate. I tested this one against it and it’s certainly accurate enough for home or auto DIY. I’ve attached pictures of it measuring a 100kΩ resistor and a freshly charged Li-Ion 18650 battery (the crocodile clip adaptors are my own). The device is auto-ranging, so you don’t need to change any settings as it will automatically detect if you’re measuring AC voltage, DC voltage or resistance. Just switch it on and off you go. There is a continuity tester and the device emits a steady tone to tell you the connection is good. The display has a backlight that can be switched on if you’re measuring in dark places and there is a handy flashlight built into the top. The device has a 15 minute auto shut off (which can be switched off). The NCV setting allows you to test for live mains voltage without using the leads. Simply hold the top of the meter near a wire or fitting and it will tell you if it is live. One criticism is that the test leads are not removable as they are on most meters. I actually got this meter to keep in the toolbox that I keep in my car and its small size and storage pouch make it perfect for this. Often electrical problems on the car can be diagnosed with a simple continuity or voltage test. This meter is ideal for keeping in the car and will suffice for simple DIY testing. If you intend to do something more serious you need to be looking at much more sophisticated and expensive kit. When I ordered this meter it was £9.99 which I thought was excellent value but I notice it has now gone up to £16.99 which is a price hike of 70%! Because of this and the fixed test leads it loses a star.

The voltmeter works well and the shear size of it makes it very easy to pack around. Even though it’s really tiny… It’s easy to read. The auto adjusting for the different settings is great.! The test lead lengths are not bad and the caring bag/case stores all the loose stuff well. For the price it’s a decent device.

Top qualité et tres pratique

This is a handy item to have if you need to quickly check voltages for your DIY projects. I have used it to check old 18650 laptop batteries, and it works perfectly. Additionally, the ability to test voltages touchlessly is a nice benefit.
