Easily attached and work well with cows in the summer

I've been using the floats in my cattle troughs for about two months and so far all is good. Update about a year later. Two out of three floats started overflowing, so I removed them, cleaned and one went back to working like it should, but the other is still overflowing. The come apart easy and clean in vinegar, so not hard to clean, just not sure why the one isn't working correctly. I will probably purchase again and give the next set a try to see if they do better.

These have worked perfect! During the heat of summer in the South my cows water troughs have been kept full. No worries on water. Easy install makes these perfect for any water trough.

I purchased 4 of these for my hydroponics set up. They all failed. They did not shut the water flow off and my reservoirs overflowed. It took a while, but I learned that the problem was not the float itself but steel elbow fitting supplied with the unit. The fitting’s threads were poorly done. The threads were too small, very rough and extremely sharp. The sharpness cut thru not only the cheesy, thin Teflon tape provided… but also the much thicker tape I had on hand. The whole thing leaked horribly! After replacing the elbow fitting, the float valve functioned properly. DONT USE THE PROVIDED ELBOW FITTING!!

The threads are too wide and it leaks. You need to load the threads up with a lot of tape.
