Lodge Cast Iron 10.25 Skillet Pan - 5 month usage Review
(First Pic : After buying it and before first use, Second and Third Pic after 5 months using) Lodge is a well known old brand and thus our expectation is also very high. This product will live up to your expectation and can outlast generations if properly taken care (just ensure you do not use Soap and stay away from Rust). I have been using this regularly over last 5 months and as you can see the seasoning has started building up well. Only first time wash was with mild-soap-water scrub dry and warm it a bit and apply few drops of any heavy cooking oil all over. However after a heavy-cooking us to clean that stuck grime, you can use a tea spoon of cooking-SALT just spread it inside the cooking surface and wipe it through with any dry paper or kitchen rag and the salt really takes away all the grime and then you rinse it with hot water carefully or if pan is cold use tap running water to clean, then wipe it dry and then warm it a bit to apply your choice of Oil and store it. For light daily cleaning I just wipe it with tissue or my kitchen cloth and just cold wash under tap (only when it is cool) (if washing when hot remember to use ONLY hot water) and NEVER SOAP. That way you can pass it on to generations :) .. I just keep it on the stove top mostly and use it almost daily.. no extra care! From breakfast items like fried eggs to Dosa ALL turns out very well, and to searing meat or roasts (this is best for that) and also into Oven for baking/Roasting/Grilling it is very good (never in microwave as we all know!) - So overall extremely good product if you can deal with the 2.5 kilo wt. But then that is the beauty and you will love cooking on it and Yes you can use Stainless Steel spatula nothing will happen :) *On the Negative side, you can see the reverse side in Pictures has 2 or 3 patches and even after oil seasoning they did not go away.. i guess this could be a sanding issue during manufacturing it - frankly i do not care as it is on the reverse side and my cooking surface was great when i started it (pic 1) i expect to build the seasoning further over couple of months and YES the fried eggs do come out well with little butter they do not not stick! Overall high quality Iron material and value for money - a lifetime product indeed i can say.

Worth the money!!
Great Product....was looking out for a cast iron skillet to cook steaks and burgers.... Does it very well....sears the meat really well. Look no further than Lodge for their products. A little on the heavy side but thats what you can expect with a cast iron skillet. Most important is seasoning the skillet before use and also oiling it after washing - plenty of You Tube videos to show you how!

Nice Big Skillet and solution for good cooking
This is quite a big looking skillet and Just the one you need. The tags shows that it's shipped or imported from USA directly and it certainly looks like one. But I feel that if you scrum hard it may scrub off the black pre-treated material on it. Mine came with a lil seen already scrapped off. But it's tiny. Since it's Iron, presence of water may make it look rusty Color presence which is natural and one just need to clean it. Over all cooking food in it feels great and hope to use it for a longer period. Update: it's almost 4 months now and this skillet is now what I use almost every day. Maybe the use constantly made this skillet well treated and I think thus wud be a lasting utility for us. This is now jst like the once when we used in US. I would recommend it now for sure. Get the bigger size for more purposes. It may be bit heavy but it does good when it comes to cooking.

Recommend: YES!
I’ve never used a lodge cast iron so I’m not sure of the original packaging. Attaching pics of how I received it. I have so many cast irons which I’ve bought locally, but the reason I wanted a lodge is for the design. It’s so elegant. To just bake and serve directly is my favourite. And THAT is where this brand stands apart from others. Seasoning was perfect but I do know that it takes a lot of patience and time until you can make it fully nonstick. The oven technique is what I do every once in a while for my cast irons. I don’t use soap to wash my cast iron unless if it’s rusted. So after each time I cook, I wash them with plain water and a nylon scrub. Wipe it down and leave it to air dry. I don’t particularly do the heat it on the stove method (unless if it’s winters). Also, try not to leave them for too long on the stove because cast iron breaks. Many don’t know this. They react to thermal shock. Fixable issue but it is also a preventable issue. This product is very pricey because obviously it’s an American brand and imported. But unfortunately we don’t have a local brand that gives us these designs, with the finish a lodge can. Even if you find a local brand, I can assure you, the finish is pathetic. Hoping that someday, someone will ensure that we can make this locally at half the cost and a finish as good as this one’s. Please check out the pictures I’ve taken after cooking pasta and baking it on the same pan. It is easy to clean and it is very heavy as a cast iron should be. Plus, it works PERFECTLY on induction. Capacity is 2 litres but I would recommend 1.5 so that what you make doesn’t spill. In the photos, I’ve made a baked pasta with 2 cups of pasta and almost half kg of mixed vegetables and 3 cups of white sauce. Hope this helps.

Extremely good product
Very cast iron pan and you can use it as skillet too. It is bit large for a family of three. A smaller size would do for a family of four. I prepared veg fry and it is already preseasoned. A quality product worth adding in the kitchen and life time use...

We love it, fantastic quality, came pre seasoned and we've just kept seasoning it every couple of uses so food doesn't stick, it's replaced our non stick pan as they wear too quick but this will last a lifetime. Would definitely recommend.

If there's one thing you can buy that's a sure thing, it's a 10 1/4" Lodge cast iron skillet. I prefer this type with the two handles instead of the single handle that sticks out, but it's all personal preference. It's the perfect breakfast pan for me, nothing browns hash browns better or cooks as evenly. I just leave it on the stove and don't bother putting it away, as I use it almost every day. Once you learn to preheat it properly, you won't have issues with sticking. I have non-stick pans too, but heated correctly, cast iron is just as easy to use. They're also very easy to maintain too. There are plenty of videos, including some from Lodge, that show you how-to if you don't know. This pan is pre-seasoned, but will continue to get better and develop more character with use. Perfect size for one or two people. If you need to cook for more, you probably need a 12" skillet too. I have a 12" Lodge, but when cooking for just myself, the 10" size is perfect. If you don't have one, I highly recommend this "Made in the USA" pan. What's great is they really will last a lifetime with proper care. Buy it once, and you can pass it on to your kids.
