Super fun, easy to teach and set up
This game is a simpler version of foundations of Rome and you definitely get your money worth. It has double layered boards which are high quality and the storage makes it so easy to put away. I don't have kiddos of my own yet but I'd say this is probably great for 8+ age range. The game was easy to teach to our friend and easy to learn i highly recommend.

Great City Building Game!
Foundations of Metropolis is a (much cheaper and reasonable) version of the KS game, Foundations of Rome. The game is simple, but is deeply strategic. Players bid for empty square lots on a grid printed over a game board. They then try to build variously shaped buildings on their connected lots for money and victory points. Generally, the bigger the building you can place the more victory points and/or money you earn. It’s very thinky and fun.

New York 1901's Big Brother
If you enjoy tile laying games or city builders, and don't mind a game that's on the dry side, you want to give this game a try for sure. This is definitely one of those games that's easy to teach, and difficulty to master, and I think will be a mass-market family favorite in years to come like Acquire, Monopoly, Scrabble, Ticket to Ride. If you have young children or want a REALLY straightforward tile laying game on a smaller scale I recommend New York 1901. If you want the "big daddy" of city building tile-laying games this is the ticket. If you're all about the table blind you can shell out big money for Foundations of Rome with all its giant plastic figures. Or if you're all about the gameplay you can save your money and just get this game with the very pleasing tiles you lay out. Any serious board game player should try this game at the very least. It has tremendous replay value and very deep emergent gameplay, like playing Go, Chess, or any big abstract game you can think of.

Easy Fun Strategic Game
Easy to learn, but can still have a lot of strategy elements! Packaging is great, the game is put away in such a way that you can start playing within a few minutes of opening the box.

We build this city
Great game, smaller in scale vs the Rome counterpart but 100% of the fun.
