Perfect Keyboard for Seamless Surface Pro Experience
I recently bought the Microsoft Surface Pro Keyboard with the Copilot key in black, and I’m thoroughly impressed! As someone who uses their Surface Pro for both work and casual use, this keyboard has significantly enhanced my experience. The Copilot key is a fantastic addition. It provides easy access to productivity features, making navigating through tasks and switching between apps much quicker. It’s intuitive and truly makes using the Surface Pro feel like a full-fledged laptop. The keys are responsive, with great travel, making typing smooth and comfortable. I’ve used it for hours of work and haven’t experienced any discomfort, which is a big plus for me. The black color looks sleek and professional, while the Alcantara fabric feels luxurious yet durable. The backlit keys are perfect for low-light environments, and the magnetic attachment keeps everything secure. The keyboard also folds flat for portability, and the kickstand allows for adjustable viewing angles. Overall, this keyboard is a game-changer for anyone who wants to enhance their Surface Pro experience, especially with the Copilot key making multitasking and productivity a breeze. It's a little on the pricey side, but totally worth it for the added convenience and functionality.

Good enough to justify the price.
This is exclusively for the Surface Pro 12" (2025). Very happy with it. They have changed the design slightly from the previous Alcantara covered keyboards for the main Surface pro line. This has alcantara on the back but the top of the keyboard is more of a rubber. I prefer this - easier to clean it and it has a nice warm, soft feel to it despite being rubbery. It's every bit as good quality as you would expect for the price - a nice typing experience and the track pad is extremely fluid and accurate. Backlit for night time use. Despite it being slim and light, the keys have a degree of depth to them. You can choose what you want to happen when you close it - I have it go to sleep as the sleep/wake function on the newer Snap Dragon powered Surface line is excellent. It wakes instantly and reliably and draws virtually no power. Yes, it is expensive but is definitely the best option for the new Surface.

Premium Feel, Flawless Performance
I wasn’t expecting to write a review about a keyboard, but after a few weeks of using the Microsoft Surface Pro 13" Keyboard (Black), it’s honestly earned it. First, let’s talk build quality: this is not a flimsy accessory. The magnetic attachment snaps on with a satisfying firmness, and it holds steady — no jittery wobble or slippage, even when you’re balancing the Surface on your lap. The outer material feels like a soft-touch matte black, but it’s not the typical Alcantara — this model has a more durable, smudge-resistant finish that doesn’t show fingerprints easily (a huge plus). It feels classy, yet practical. Typing experience: easily among the best I’ve used on a 2-in-1. Keys are well spaced, with just the right amount of travel — very MacBook-like in feel, but a bit softer on impact. I was able to type at full speed with minimal adjustment time. There’s no flex in the keyboard deck, which is rare for a cover-style keyboard. Trackpad: unexpectedly good. Smooth, accurate, and supports full Windows gestures. Slightly smaller than a traditional laptop, but never feels cramped. The click is tactile but quiet — no hollow "clack" sound. Some details I didn’t find before buying: The keyboard automatically disables when folded back behind the screen (no accidental keypresses in tablet mode). It draws almost no power from the Surface — battery drain is negligible. The function key row includes quick toggles for brightness, volume, screen snip, and even a dedicated emoji key — surprisingly useful. It’s firmware-upgradable through Windows Update (my trackpad improved subtly after a patch!). Portability: folds flat and feels solid in a bag. I’ve tossed it into my backpack without a case a dozen times — no warping, no fraying edges. If you’re on the fence about getting this over a third-party keyboard, don’t be. It’s not just an accessory — it completes the Surface Pro. Definitely worth it if you type regularly or use your Surface as a laptop replacement.

Good addition to the surface pro
Great keyboard trackpad combo. It would be nice if the trackpad was about 20% bigger. And if the function keys followed international standards. but still great. A bit expensive for what it is though.

Very smooth keyboard for the Surface Pro 12 Tablet
This keyboard mates magnetically with the Surface Pro 12 tablet. It then draws power from the tablet so there is no need to charge it before use. Typing on it is smooth and the tracker pad works very well. The pen is useful if you do any drawing on the tablet and there is a feature that allows the machine to convert handwritten text and insert the notes into Word. Once again, the pen mates magnetically with the back of the keyboard and draws its charge from the tablet when so docked.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Keyboard!
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Excellent Keyboard! Great responsive keys — my typing feels quicker and more precise than ever. The compact layout and smooth key action make it a pleasure to use. It attaches magnetically with a solid, premium feel and looks great paired with the Surface Pro. Love it — thank you, Microsoft!

Thin, High Quality, Best Touchpad I've Ever Used
Love the detachable keyboard, for something so thin, it still feels very high quality and very nice to type on, the touchpad is one of the smoothest I've ever used. You can keep this attached to the Surface and close it like a normal laptop which will put the Surface to sleep, very convenient for power saving. Convenient shortcut keys (volume, brightness, key backlighting), 4 brightness options for the backlit keys (including off), microphone mute is great when you don't want to have to find the mute button on whatever video call you're on and finally the new co-pilot key is great on the keyboard, one press and you have AI at your fingertips.
