Excellent value for a quality product

I am black and have sensitive and dry skin and decided to give this a go. Having used liquid based aftershaves, it was very weird using this initially as it has a texture consistency that is a mix between clay and lotion. What worked for me was using the equivalent of 2 pea sizes lathered into my hands and massaging it all over the areas I have shaved. Due to the white colour of this balm it’s quite evident there is a clear “whitening” on my face from where I used this, but after about and hour its absorbed by the skin and is less evident. As I have dry skin, this amount I use helps with treating my skin postshave and keeps it well moisturised. Smell is pleasant and lasts really long (may be due to the amount I use). Overall, it helps minimise post shave skin issue, and works well for my sensitive. Only reason for 4 stars rather than 5 is more because I need a significant amount of time for the white to not show on my black skin so I try to use it overnight or hours before leaving the house. I understand the argument of trying to use less to help with the white colouring issue but if I do so, I don’t use enough to protect and treat my skin post shave and there is an obvious irregular dry and bumpy feel. This is an excellent product. Not thick, but thin enough to be applied easily, and most importantly, it really does soothe and moisturise the face.

This was an excellent balm, nice consistency, nice scent, metal tube. Latest tube is plastic, so lots of waste unless cut it open. The scent is practically non existent now.

I shave traditionally with badger brush and double edged safety razor. I only tend to shave a couple of times per week and for a few years now have revealed red, blotchy patches under my stubble after which the skin crusts and is quite noticeable on the face. Since switching to this cream all the red, blotchy, skin irritation issues have gone and it has made a noticeable and very welcome difference. The scent is also lovely, though you only really pick this up when you first apply it - after that it's difficult to smell anything so it certainly doesn't get in the way of any other scent you may choose to apply. This will be a regular purchase for me, though the tube will last me at least six months.

Good stuff, goes on easily and doesn't feel greasy at all. Decent price too.
