![Don Knotts 5-Movie Collection [DVD]](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81DCQWPJqHL.jpg)

Get ready for big laughs with one of the most popular and beloved funnymen of all time in the Don Knotts Comedy Collection. After catapulting to national fame as the often impossible but ever lovable Deputy Barney Fife on TV's The Andy Griffith Show and before winning audiences over as wacky landlord Ralph Furley on Three's Company, Knotts conquered the silver screen in a series of unforgettable feature films. Showcasing his incredible comic timing and physical humor, he finds himself in one outrageous situation after another in The Ghost and Mr. Chicken, The Reluctant Astronaut, The Shakiest Gun in the West, The Love God? and How to Frame a Figg. Disc 1 - The Ghost and Mr. Chicken Review: Just As Described AND Better! CC in English! - Pros/Cons: We both enjoy watching classic comedies and adventures from when we were kids growing up in a much kinder, gentler seeming world and I decided to purchase Don Knotts movie collection rather than rent it as the price was about half of what it cost to just rent it one time. Happy to report that this is new, comes in a plastic case with all 4 movies on 3 separate disk sleeves. Cover front insert shows exactly what you see on the desertcart Seller/desertcart Shipper states on their page. Old reviews are not accurate any longer. This is a clear, in color, movie screen just like the days when you went to a movie theater to watch these. Best of all, menu choices give you several options, PLUS Closed Captioning in English. I've tested 2 of these so far, and both have the same features, so I am trusting that the others will have the same menu options. Backed by desertcart, I had no concerns about purchasing all of these. Great buy and good clean fun. Review: Great movies - I seen these on the big screen when I was a lot younger and they're still entertaining and enjoyable!

Great Family Films & Great Childhood Memories
This is a nice collection of some of Don Knott's most popular films. I recall watching these movies as a small child with my parents, who were fans of Knotts in "Andy of Mayberry." I like that it is 5 films in one package and I don't need to purchase them separately. They are all family-friendly and fun. I can introduce my son to the zany, rubber-faced Mr. Knotts and his high-strung hijinks. My personal favorite is "The Shakiest Gun In The West" in which Don plays a dentist sent to the wild west to start up a practice. The opening dental exam scene is priceless. If you're a stickler for video quality, you may prefer to buy each film separately, since compressing two films on one DVD results in some picture quality degradation. But for our family, the picture quality is great, considering we had some of these films on VHS recorded in EP mode. The collection consists of 3 discs, with two movies on two DVDs and "How To Frame a Figg" by itself on one DVD. It's a great deal of 5 films for under $12.00 and will provide hours of entertainment. Amazon also offers a 4-movie collection of Don Knotts' Disney films for a bargain price, so check that out as well.

Complete Collection of Don Knotts Universal Films
These are the films that Don Knotts made after his departure from The Andy Griffith Show. The films were a lot of fun and great showcases for Knotts. They showed that Don could carry a movie and could do more than just be a sidekick. The first three movies "Ghost and Mr. Chicken," "The Reluctant Astronaut," and "Shakiest Gun in the West" were all good. The film "The Love God" in 1969 killed Knotts' movie career for a few years. He did one more movie with Universal, "How to Frame a Figg" in 1971 but it did not do well. Don Knotts came back with the hit film "The Apple Dumpling Gang" in 1975. The first three movies mentioned earlier in this review are the best in this five movie collection.
