So far so good it works great
I like this so far I've used it three or four times. Make sure you read the directions and don't be freaked out thinking that it's 140° already when you took it out of the package. Basically the dial has to swing all the way around to get your reading. Just wipe the probe off after you use it I wouldn't leave it in the oven or over the heat. That way you'll keep moisture out of the inside.

OK. Not perfect.
First of all, this is not an instant read thermometer. I have a couple of instant read thermometers made by this same company. I purchased a 2 pk. of theirs from Amazon. I was replacing an older digital one made by the same people. The newer ones were more accurate and I liked that. The older one had a sheath that covered the entire probe that was fairly long. The newer ones had a stupid one inch sheath on the end that didn't over much of anything and I downgraded them for that. Now for the thermometer on this link. You are NOT going to get instant read on an analog thermometer. I did, however, test it. I heated water in a small pot on our cook-top. I inserted the instant read DIGITAL thermometer into the water and it instantly read 147 and crawled up to 150 in a couple of seconds. I then inserted this analog thermometer into the water and it also read 150 degrees but it took ten to eleven seconds to get there. No, the probe is not as long as some, but it is adequate. And if you are dumb enough to try to insert a probe into meat while it is ON THE GRILL, you deserve to get burned. I always take whatever I am grilling off of the grill and set it on a plate to the side BEFORE I insert the thermometer. DUH!At first, I was impressed with the "reverse red-tipped pointer" at the bottom of the indicator needle with various temperature guidelines. But the ones for "beef" are not accurate as they relate to steaks. It seems pretty accurate for pork, but don't rely on it for steaks. Truth is, I would probably give this one a 3.5 if I could. Its okay, but real instant read is better, and you can find temperature charts for accurate cooking all over the web.

Not accurate
Not accurate.Always under reports, e.g. the thermometer will say a burger is medium rare, but when I cut into it, no pink. Will keep looking for the right thermometer
