FRYE Women's Lindsay Plate Knee-High Boot

These are my third pair of Frye's and bar far the most beautiful (I also have the Jane 14-Stitch in Tan and the Melissa Button in Smooth Black). There's a reason for Frye's quality reputation, and these are exemplary: gorgeous leather, perfect craftsmanship, and I love the detail of the plate over the crossed leather straps. The Lindsay Plates are absolutely show-stopping and timeless boots--my boyfriend said they were "very classy"--and well worth the price. I can't wait for the weather to get cooler so I can wear them everywhere.Sizing Note: If you are petite, this is your boot. I am 5' 01" and have pretty thin calves. I can see why some might say these run tight--they were a better fit for me than most boots, and definitely have a narrower shaft than the Frye Jane Stitch or Frye Melissa Button. They also have a narrower toe, but otherwise fit true to size. I did not feel like the shaft was especially high, and I didn't have a problem with them hitting the back of my legs.Especially at Amazon's price, I'm going to be the bad influence and tell you need these boots!

I've been looking for the perfect pair of brown leather boots, and I think these are them. I got them in redwood. The color is beautiful. the quality is what you'd expect from Frye boots. They are subtle and elegant. I can dress them up with a Burberry dress and it looks great, or dress them down with skinny jeans and down vest, and they look just as perfect. It is definitely a subdued boot, in that it compliments what you are wearing, but isn't necessarily an attention grabber. Unlike a lot of Frye boots, these are NOT cowboy boots, which I like. I am a 8.5-9, I read that they fit big, so I got the 8.5. My heal is still sliding a bit in the shoe, but my toes felt a bit squished so I kept it as is. The sole is a bit stiff, but because they are leather I expect that they will loosen up with time. I had no problem with the slip on aspect of the shoe. My calf is 13.5", and this boot is perfect, definitely not too big which I like. But I think this could be an issue for bigger calves. I am 5'5", and these shoes are the perfect high, just below the knee.Overall, I think this is a great boot if you are looking for a high quality boot good for a mix of casual and dressed up wear.

I eyed these for about six months on 6pm until I found a way better price here on Amazon. Whew! The leather is very high quality, great real-leather smell right out of the box. You can tell a clear difference from Fryes and those other boots you might buy at DSW. There's just no comparison. You can also tell these will not be sagging around your ankles any time soon. I don't even need to stuff the boots to keep the form, they just stand straight up. I was anxious about the fit, but I'm a 9M with flat feet and 14-inch calves and I had no problem getting these on (off takes about 10 seconds though, haha). As with any tall boot, best with tight-fitting jeans, jeggings or leggings. I've gotten so many compliments already. Fairly comfortable right out of the box, getting more flexible. The front part of the heel (made of some cheap particle board I think) is already wearing but the rubber is going strong. Not sure why the whole heel isn't rubber. Will probably have to re-sole at some point on the heel.

So very disappointed. The boot arrived on time, packaged well.I was so very excited as the price was a once in a life time but I should have known then something would be wrong with the boots. The boots are beautiful, well crafted, supple leather, everything dreamed of - but not sized right. I have a narrow leg/foot- 7.5-8 narrow - medium. I ordered an 8 and I couldn't even get my foot through the ankle shaft. The ankle area is so narrow it was impossible to get my foot into it at all. As others have stated, they are definitely sized inappropriately which is such a huge disappointment. I was able to sell the boot to a friend who has extremely narrow leg and size 6.5 to 7 foot. She was barely able to get her foot through the ankle shaft but once in the boot was comfortable but clearly at very least one size smaller than stated.
