Excellent
One of the most entertaining and educational checker (draughts) books.

Good book on the subject
Good book on the subject, I've read many. Most of the "shots and traps" I have seen i. Other book, which stands to reason, as they were most likely taken from this book or others like it from the time. The language is somewhat date but thats to be expected.I do likereading the words of an actual master rather than someone who is just recycling old material and putting their name on it.Willie offers aone sound advice about fame play. A good book for anyone interested in bettering their game, or seasoned players who want to know a little more how Willie F. Ryan thought. This is the only book of hiz you can fi d in publication. The rest are only obtainable from collectors, maybe you'd get luck and find something on EBay.

Neat checkered book
My Dad loved it. Seems kind of complicated but it's actually simple once you start reading it

Doesn't have numbered squares like others, very difficult to follow because of this.
I have read several books on checkers and all but this one have numbers on the squares when presenting a strategy. This is a huge drawback and I haven't even bothered reading because of it. Many will know the numbered squares by memory but many won't. The diagrams should have them.
