XIKAR Tech Double Torch Lighter, Black

The dual flame Xikar Tech worked great for 3 uses then the ignition spar wire became loose. I called Xikar and they sent a shipping label for a warranty return/repair by email. As of this writing it has not been returned. I own the single flame Xikar and it is excellent! I expect the dual flame to perform great after Xikar's repair. Prior to the ignition wire failure (loosening of the ignition wire) the dual flame was a beast! The visible fuel tank is huge and EZ to see. One can fill the huge tank to near the top buy burping the tank. This is done buy using a ball point pen or similar device to press down on the filler tube that is located on the bottom of the Xikar Tech lighter. You will gets a small bit of butane fluid burp. Then fill or top-off from the butane bottle again at the filler tip. Burping the lighter tank relieves some back pressure thus, allowing for a more complete fill. What is the difference between the single flame and the double flame Tech lighter? The single flame is more like a precision laser and the dual flame is a wider laser in my opinion. I love both the double flame as well as the single flame. Having two Xikar Techs makes for a great backup plan. I got both in different colors too make a visual identification easier. Toasting the foot of a 60 ring cigar takes a lot of flame time if one is a perfectionist. I have been blown away by the sheer volume of butane storage in this Tech lighter. I am still on my first fill after toasting many cigars. I would buy both of the lighters again. To my knowledge Xikar is the only one or one of the few that gives a life time warranty! Impressive...UPDATE:8/4/14 I received a NEW replacement for the Dual flame Tech lighter from Xikar's warranty department. Works great. Thanks Xikar for the prompt new replacement!

I have had this torch for around 5 months now and have not had a very good experience with it. I used Xikar butane so I know I got the good stuff. I still can barely get it to stay lit. I can only get it lit on the highest flame setting. I have purged it multiple times. I have used compressed air to clean the nozzles. I expected more from this brand. Don't bother.Update 2/17/2016: This has turned into a very reliable torch. I am not sure what happened but I am guessing there was something inside of it that took a while to burn out. I have not had any problems with it since the middle of December. The only problem I have with it anymore is that it will only light on the highest setting. If I turn it down it won't light. This sometimes causes the end of the cigar to get a little burnt if I hold it too close. I would recommend this for just about anyone smoking alone or with a couple of friends.

The Spark Wire came loose almost immediatley after it arrived. After trading several Emails with Xikar, I got it working 98% of the time. Would give it 5 Stars, but my time diagnosing the problem cost them 2 stars. *UPDATE* Wound up sending lighter back to Xikar for repair. They replaced it with the blue version of lighter. Don't know if that says anything about the Black one. Time will tell

Filled it up, hit the button and good to go. I couldn't get the tank to completly fill, got it filled about 2/3's. Maybe that's the way it's supposed to work so no biggie I guess. Still holds more fuel than my other lighters. I would buy it again.

Great lighter, easy to use and produces a great flame.

Kind of finicky. I might be doing something wrong, but it seems to take a lot of coaxing to keep the flame lit.
