This book is helpful no matter where you are in your marketing cycle and expertice.
I read this book a few years ago and still go back to it. I am the Chair of our law firm Marketing Committee and the Chair of our firm's Construction Law Group. I bought this book for all the members of the Construction Law Group and for every other lawyer who wanted one in the firm (35 lawyers).One of the most helpful things that this book provides is a menu of actions to take and methods to use for your marketing, rating each of them in effectiveness. You review that together with the description of the area that is currently holding you back to move you forward effeciently and in a manner that fits your personality--if you are not a public speaker or are not a gregarious party person, you don't have to be--you do what is comfortable for you (OK, we all have to stretch a little, but if you don't write you don't have to become a blogger).This book will help you grow your book of business. The follow-up books are good, too.

If you are in business, get this book immediately. It will force you to take action...its just that good!
As a marketing and revenue consultant, I find myself spending a lot of time reading and reviewing marketing and sales books for ideas, tips, and strategies that I have never heard about before.Now that I have that out of the way, I want to warn you, nothing in C.J. Hayden's book is new or unique.Not one single thing.What C.J. does that makes this book pure genius is that she takes the stuff that you know and know you should be doing and puts it in front of you in a way that forces you to take action.I mean, if you don't take action after reading this book, you will never take action.That's how great it is.What do you want to do?Get more sales? There's a strategy in here.Fill your sales pipeline? Gotcha again!Need help following up? Great! I've got a thing or two for you.And, what holds it together is the checklist and scoring system. Games and tracking work and C.J.'s checklist and scoring system are so simple that you will, again, have to use them. It just won't be an option.

I have really enjoyed this book. What I appreciate the most is the fact that the author doesn't make false promises or claim to have some top secret tip for marketing success. The truth is when it comes to marketing there is no secret marketing strategies and this book doesn't claim otherwise.Here is what this book offers its readers, the knowledge, guidance, and advice to create your own customized marketing plan and all the things you need to know to put your plan in action. You decide what you're current strategy is missing and/or what area you most want to improve on. From there the book starts to become more focused to your specific needs. Once you know what you want to do, the book guides you to draw up your official 28 day plan and then you get started!If you're looking for a paperweight, this book isn't for you. It's non-stop action from beginning to end, for those of us who are seriously serious about getting clients now! If you follow the directions provided and stick to the plan you've created, it's impossible not to get clients.

Highly Recommended
This is an amazing book. I bought the first edition back in the early 2000s to help me organize my marketing efforts. This one I bought as a raffle item and the gentleman who won it made a point of letting me know how helpful it was to him as well. It MAKES you design a 28 day marketing plan. You pick one area of focus and then it gives you many ideas for tasks to do to help you reach your goal. It is still my go-to after all these years anytime I need to get more clients.

Authoritative and Chock Full of Resources
I was a bit wary going into this book. So many great reviews can sometimes mean hype and mere "bandwagon" jumper-on-ers. But these were apparently genuine. My only disappointment is that I will need to read it again and actually take action.

Very Good Book for Basic Outline and Approach
This is a well written and thought-out book for marketing as a freelancer, solo-entrepreneur, etc. It isn't modern enough to get much into social media and other approaches that are popular today, but if you see all marketing channels as just vehicles as I do, then the concepts translate fine for today. Well worth the time. I will use it as an ongoing reference.

Dieses Buch sollte jeder Berater oder Coach lesen. Nein besser nicht nur lesen, sondern seine eigene Challenge daraus entwickeln. Die Inhalte sind sehr praxisbezogen (man fühlt sich immer wieder ertappt) und laden zur Umsetzung ein. Die 28 Tage sind vielleicht nicht ganz realistisch, aber aus der kurzen Zeitspanne kann man leicht die für das eigene Weiterkommen passende Umsetzungszeit wählen.

While I didn't get anything new out of this book, I do like the way they have packaged the processes I'm already using. I've already recommended the book to several people whom I know will benefit from it.

Excellent
An excellent guide to really get you started on a genuinely realistic marketing strategy. Better than any other marketing book I have read.

Excellent method (not too much new info compared to the previous edition)
I purchased the previous edition of Get Clients Now! years ago and I found it very valuable. It provides a clear path of what to do if you are selling services (not physical products). The book focuses on the 6 strategies that you should focus on (direct contact and follow up, networking, etc), the tactics and works like a recipe book (you choose the ingredients of your marketing plan according to the step of the marketing life cycle that requires more attention). It is easy to understand and if you stick with it is very effective. There are also free resources you can download (like the worksheet).I did not give 5 stars to the latest edition as I was expecting more. It adds just a few info on social media, but it is very basic and not something that you cannot find by browsing the internet. If you do not have the previous edition this book is 5 stars and HIGHLY recommended, but if you have the previous edition this is 90% a photocopy of the old one with very few additions. In all honesty if you have the previous edition stick to it and save your money.
