No Bones About It!
I purchased this item to use as a prop for a living history presentation. While almost any replica skull would have worked, I chose the 3B model specifically for its realism since my persona would be interacting with an audience in very close quarters (ie: 3 feet or less). I was impressed by the photos but when I unboxed the skull, I can honestly say any expectations I had about this item were exceeded a hundredfold! Is it 100% anatomically accurate? No. Is it pretty freaking close? Yes! I am way beyond satisfied with this product and would recommend it to anyone looking for an affordable, functional and aesthetically accurate replica for stage/screen/reenactment purposes. For the price, it can't be beat and while I'll admit I'm not a doctor, studying to be one (nor play one on TV) this skull is a great buy.

Needed an exchange but good now
My original review was 1 star because the calvaria did not fit on the cranial base at all, but I received my replacement within 3 days and the new one is perfect. It's an excellent skull with helpful labels. It's accurate to the point where even small grooves and processes too small to label are still replicated. Sutures and grooves for meningeal vessels are all clearly visible. Excellent medical education resource.

Alas, poor Yorick! He taught me,
I purchased this recently to supplement my neuroanatomy studying. I am a med student, and there are a lot of different structures and landmarks that I need to be able to identify. (A considerable amount more than I needed to know in undergraduate A&P courses.) This model is great! High quality. Even looks great sitting on a desk. It is wonderful for tactile learners such as myself. It is a nice supplement for those that are learning from books like Netters. Is it as good as the real thing... maybe not. If there are obscure landmarks missing or perhaps off by a mm or two... well I see that MUCH more with real skulls in lab. In short, for the money, this model is outstanding. High quality, low(ish) price, and money better spent on it, than another text book (besides that's what the internet is for.)

Really cool-looking and well made
I am always looking to decorate my apartment with cool looking stuff, and being that I am into a bit more of the "morbid" side of decorating this fit right in. It's really a great piece, I am very impressed. It has moving parts, such as the jaw, and the top of the skull. You could even store small objects in the skull if you'd like it, there is room for it.I have seen many skulls in my life, from cheaply made plastic skulls you can buy in toy stores, to really expensive medical skulls, and this particular skull feels, and looks, more like the really expensive ones.If you plan to throw it around and play with it a lot, I can't verify the reliability, but as a decorating piece, this is really cool.

Worth every penny!
Has to be the most accurate representation of a scull I have seen, second only to the real thing! I have been an anatomy TA at 2 schools each having a plethora of skulls, this is by far the most detailed.Had to buy a model to study during covid but if future schools are looking for a great advanced anatomy model this one would be worth the price.

3B Scientific A20/9 Plastic Classic Human Skull Model with brain
I am an optometry student, and I purchased this as a visual aid in studying for anatomy and neuro. It's alot nicer than I thought it would be for the money, in fact it's about as good as the ones they have in my anatomy lab. Only downside, is the brain is a 5 part brain--not 8 part as listed in the description. Also, the brain has some rough spots on the finish, but nothing too bad. The numbers are handpainted, and seem pretty accurate, although I have not double checked everything to my Netter's atlas yet. Overall, great bang for the buck. I recommend it to health professions/med students, and plan to hang onto it for many years in practice.

A Quality Reference Tool
I purchased this plastic human skull primarily as an artist's reference so I could improve my drawings of the human head and face. I have not been disappointed. The skull appears solid, durable and weighty. One thing I am also pleased with is that it seems to be an exemplary reference for drawing, and yet -- because of the medical numbering of different parts and the removable top -- it doesn't look like a skull I dug up from a cemetary. Another skull, which I almost purchased instead of this one, was a one-piece skull intentionally colored to look authentic, and that creeped me out. Also, the last thing I wanted was others to think I kept real human skulls around the house. However, I must admit the little authentic details of this skull replica are fascinating, and have even been an unexpected topic of conversation between myself and a musician friend. My only complaint, which is a very small one, is that one of the little latches that help hold the skull cap securely on top is a little loose and easily unlatches. The other one works great though.I highly recommend this skull to any artists who wish to improve their art.

Extremely helpful!
I'm using this for my A&P course and A&P lab this semester and will most likely use it again for A&P 2 and A&P 2 lab next term. We have these exact ones in the classroom and I found them very helpful in learning the bones, markings, sutures, and all parts of the skull, I decided to get one simply because the classroom isn't open 24/7 and it helps to see the structures in person and up close, plus I'm sure the professor will use this model for the test. Anyways, if you are in A&P and need to have a physical representation of the skull to learn the markings and the whole nine yards, this is the best you'll get for this price.
