Product Description The new film from Amat Escalante (Cannes Film Festival best director winner for "Heli") follows young mother Alejandra whose life is disrupted by the arrival of a mysterious woman, Veronica. She introduces her to an isolated cabin in the woods where an otherworldly creature dwells, a source of great pleasure but also great danger. THE UNTAMED "does that very rare thing in cinema in that it blends mystery, horror and pseudo-reality with a kind of dark subconscious arousal" (The Film Stage). Remake of older film
This movie is obviously a remake of the 1981 film, "Possession", starring Sam Neill and Isabelle Adjani. Perhaps the difference between the two is that in "Possession" there is much unexplained, which in "Untaimed", the director goes out of his way to explain the existence of the alien being, and how he got there. Perhaps a similarity is that it goes unexplained as to why this entity is only interested in earthling erotic sex! In "Possession," you are exposed to the entity, without any knowledge of why it is here or what it is. It immediately causes disgust and shock! It causes you to consider on your own the "why" and "why not,", with no previous knowledge. In "Untamed" you at least have the benefit of this knowledge, which may make it less of a shock. I prefer "Untamed" because I don't like unanswered questions at the end of horror films. I felt "Untamed" was better thought out, and had more complex characters, with better character development.

Hentai Tentacles in Latin America!
Nicely done! And we get a also a full scene towards the beginning end half of the movie. Well-written, and well-acted adaptation of the Japanese popular Hentai genre!

Loved the special feature on making the movie
I'm not much of a movie reviewer so I'd recommend reading through some of the others but careful if you don't want spoilers. I will say that at the end I was confused and wasn't sure how the relationship drama was supposed to connect to the science fiction element.
