Gentle, Effective, and Long-Lasting Color
I’ve been using Herbatint 1N Black for a while now, and it’s consistently delivered excellent results. The color is rich and provides full gray coverage, lasting several weeks without noticeable fading. What I appreciate most is its gentle formulafree from ammonia, alcohol, and fragrance which doesn’t irritate my sensitive scalp. The application process is straightforward, and the gel consistency ensures even coverage. Additionally, the packaging allows me to reseal and reuse any leftover product, making it economical. Overall, it’s a reliable choice for those seeking a natural-looking, long-lasting hair color.

Great permanent haircolor for brunettes
I have used this Herbatint haircolor for months and love it. It makes my hair shiny and healthier looking than other permanent color formulas have. I use 5N, light chestnut, and it is much darker in reality than it is in the box or by description. It pulls very dark and settles into a really pretty multi-faceted shade of medium brown. I love that I can use the bottle and mix what I need and keep the rest for root touch-ups. It's cost-effective that way. They recently added a tube of conditioner that is great for weekly conditioning. Bravo, Italia for a great product!!

Great grey coverage
Great product and it did the job of covering my grey hair. There were no odors to the product and it did not harm my scalp or create any burning with the 9N color that I used. There is no brush or shampoo in the box so be prepared to supply your own. Watching their video, you get the impression that everything you need is supplied.

Good product and value - go lighter than you think and BYOB (mixing bottle)
My natural hair is curly med-dark brown with a lot of premature gray. It actually looked kind of nice in and of itself, but it did make me look a lot older, so I started coloring it a couple of years ago with Naturtint after an unimpressive test with premixed henna (I'll try that again when I'm ready to taper off of coloring altogether). Naturtint was ok, but the color seemed to fade rather dramatically after a couple of weeks, and leaving it on long enough to cover the gray would often make me feel dizzy and nauseous. So I decided to try Herbatint. As others have said, these colors run dark; the first shade I chose (6N) was much darker than expected, and unfortunately the areas of my hair that were previously colored with Naturtint really sucked in the dark dye, with a couple of small darker patches still evident months later. However, I switched right away to 7N and as time goes on I'm really liking the color. I might try 8N this summer. The N range is recommended for covering gray hair, and I try to choose one step lighter than my natural color, somewhere between my old brown and the new grays. This seems to be a good rule of thumb for me. I am able to leave this on for about 40 minutes, enough to hit the grays, without it irritating my skin or making me feel woozy. The gray hairs are still slightly twinkly through the color compared to the non-grays, which worried me at first, but the color still hangs in there well, and it seems more natural than a monochromatic mass of clearly dyed hair.Unlike Naturtint, Herbatint does not come with a mixing bottle and recommends mixing in a non-reactive dish and applying with a brush. Since the goal for graying hair is to hit the roots as much as possible, I found this difficult and tedious with my curly mop and just bought my own mixing squirt bottle, which works much better for me. The color and developer bottles each contain 60ml of liquid. My hair is about shoulder-length and thirsty, for reference. I usually measure out 15ml of each into a small container for a touch up application (entire hairline, all around natural part) for which I do use a small plastic container and brush, and the remaining product is enough to mix in the squirt bottle for a "full" application. I do one or the other about every 18-21 days. The thing I like least about this line is the companion shampoo and conditioner, which they encourage you to use after treatment to help the color set. These leave my hair looking and feeling like straw. The last time I colored, I did use their shampoo packet but broke down and used a coconut deep conditioning pack instead of the Herbatint "Royal Creme". The color seemed to last just as long as far as I can tell, and it sure felt and looked a lot better. If it didn't make my already fragile hair so dry, I would use the companion conditioner, since it's designed to work together.I am cheap and impatient with beauty regimens, and Herbatint fits both my budget and my annoyance threshold. This is a good choice for those of us who prefer products that are a bit kinder to nature and the little animals, and it's gentle to skin and easy to use.

3N DARK CHESTNUT is the color I bought
I've been coloring my hair for many years. I now have gray hair on the sides by my ears and in front by my bangs. Gray hair is stubborn to color.I read the reviews for this hair color.I went ahead and bought it.IM SO GLAD I DID!It is a beautiful color. No smell and left my hair extremely soft. A first for me. Usually any hair color I bought, I'd spend up to $80 more on hair products to get my hair soft again after coloring. This product...NO NEED TO BUY HAIR SOFTENING products to get the shine and softness my hair needed.Now...here's where I was truly surprised. When I'd wash the hair color out of any OTHER color, the color would also run down my neck and shoulders. My tub would be full of hair color. Then within a week the color was already fading. With this product...NO MESS. NO color going down the shower drain.NO color staining my hair towel. NO color resting on my clothes collar. Now, you'll be saying 'Obviously she didn't rinse it out right' or 'She doesn't know how to color her hair' . Fair to think that.BUT, I've been coloring my hair for 40 years. I've tried pretty much all hair coloring brands and colors. From bright pink, to purple, to bright blonde to deep auburn to deep black. I'm naturally a blonde by birth. I just love all kinds of hair colors.I'd try a color stay with it for awhile then switch it up or down. This time, I BOUGHT 3N DARK CHESTNUT. I Absolutely LOVE it!It's dark, rich, lovely.I did read in one review that she used a 1/2 Oz of 100% argan oil WITH the hair color and her hair was SOFT afterwards.Well, that was music to my ears. So, when I ordered this, I also bought 100% argan oil.I used 1/2 oz with the hair color. This kit only includes: hair color, hair developer, gloves, instructions and a small packet of hair conditioner. If you have LONG hair, buy 2 boxes. Long being shoulders and down.If you have SHORT hair, by 1 box. Short being above shoulders.Instructions said 40 minutes for first time using color. I kept on for 40 minutes.I love this color so much, I put a reminder on Amazon to buy again in December.I think I found the color I've always wanted. From trying so many different colors in the past 40 years. It's a beautiful color. So, whatever color you pick...you'll love it. You'll be glad you bought it. You will be happy with how soft your hair is after coloring. You'll be super happy to see the gray GONE!I know this is a long review. But, this was worth writing a review for.Good luck and be prepared to be super happy and no stains on your hair towel or clothes.1st PIC taken INSIDE2nd PIC taken OUTSIDE
