It does the job, but be prepared to fettle
I got this to place in a htpc (replacing a full height DVD drive with a slim drive). Unfortunately it wasn't as simple a job as it should have been. The metal tray/plastic front bezel are sturdy and of good quality. However, the finish/fit of the two parts were just ok. I found myself filing down the long edges of the tray to deburr it and using a craft knife to trim down a small amount of excess plastic (from moulding).Fitting a 12.5mm slim DVD drive showed that the unit is slighty twisted, resulting in the drive not sitting flush/flat with the top of the unit. This would have caused some issues fitting it in the case opening. Changing this for a 9.5mm slim DVD drive, the mounting holes for right side (from front) didn't line up. I used a file to elongate the mounting holes and then the drive sat flush with the top of the tray. The bottom mounting seemed fine with the 12.5mm slim drive, but I didn't try it with the 9.5mm drive. I noticed that when you removed the bottom slotted cover, there is no way of fixing it in the empty space for the top slot! I also noticed that the 9.5mm drive bezel isn't tall enough and leaves a few mm gap, which I packed out with a strip of black packing foam.So only 3 stars - it should be under £8 for the meh quality.

Needs some adjustment, but can work well to add two slimline DVD / Blu-ray drives into 5.25" slot
Generally sold and well built, but the alignment of some of the holes was slightly off, so the DVD Blu-ray drives didn't quite fit. After I'd opened up a few of the holes and slightly re-adjusted (bent!) the frame it worked perfectly, allowing me to fit two slimline laptop DVD / Blu-ray drives into a single 5.25" chassis slot

sturdy and does the job
Perfect little compromise if your looking to utilise a 3.5m slot on your PC case and mount a smaller 2.5m SD drive (this was my intention)works perfectly simple design sturdy and still in place 2 years later without no issues

Excellent bay!
Excellent bay !! Bought it for an HTPC as it is less deep (145mm) than a 5.25in Bluray (172mm) so it fits better in a Silverstone ML-04 case which has limited space. It allows plenty of room for the disk cables. Most other bays (eg. Startech) are 170mm deep so they would not work in my case.I too was originally confused about the HD screw positions, but it always pays to read the fitting instructions (on the box) as the HD screws easily from the bottom, not the side.A 3.25 HD fits well in the bottom, although it is VERY snug underneath the slim optical, so heat might be an issue and one of the new 2TB 2.5 HD's might be a better option. However, the bottom screw fitting does mean better thermal contact , so it may not be an issue.

completely useless a 9
completely useless a 9.5mm odd, holes don't line up, no instructions. Some one was paid how much to design this!
