Can a man use this for a regular hair lotion?

Yes my husband and son uses it all the time on natural hair.

I'm a newcomer looking for something to get a wet loose slicked back hair look (ex: bela legosi/shemp howard) would this work for me? what would?

No. It works best on permed hair. It is a nice moisturizer that makes the hair shiny and manageable, but did work on my curls. You should try a gel that won't dry out your hair or leave in conditioner.

I put too much in & now am having trouble getting it all rinsed out. HELP!!

Just a little goes a long way. I had to learn the hard way when I used it on my son's hair. You may have to wash it a few times to get it out. It should come out eventually. Sorry you're having a hard time getting it out.
