This book is a tour through many important concepts in geography, but without a rigorous structure, sufficient illustrative examples, or exercises that help students apply the concepts to interesting cases. There are figures and charts that don't make sense, misspelled names, and very complex ideas (e.g. in network theory) that are introduced to introductory students with barely any explanation. It's not uncommon for early edition textbooks to lack basic review and editing, but sadly this book fits that pattern.Fortunately, Oxford has another, higher quality text in human geography, by Norton and Mercier. Assign that one, not this one.
