Nearly magical. Probably 2x-3x faster than using hands.
Not perfect, but grabs 95% of the acorns. I think as long as you keep your grass generally short, this tool has worked great, even getting out those acorns more deeply embedded in ruts. Saves the back. Would have given it 5 stars if: 1) handle/broomstick was sturdier and heavier (always feel like I'm going to break it when pressing down on tool), and 2) if handle/broomstick were about 6-12" longer. Even still, saved back and freezing, dirty fingers.

Works like I expected
I have very small acorns all over my lawn. The nut wizard made picking up many of these nuts easier than if I did it by hand, however, it is limited to getting nuts that are on the surface of the grass, and not the ones embedded lower in the foliage. I had to rake up many of the nuts that were buried a bit underneath the grass so that the nut wizard could get at them. All in all, I'm happy with the product, since it saves my back from strain.

Mini collector only funcional for mini acorns on hard surfaces
Great ship time, good service from vendor. Unfortunately, the product itself isn't a "wonder tool" that you just roll across the ground and pick up everything in sight. I have a huge Pin Acorn tree that releases thousands of little acorns (1/2 inch sized). Enough acorns each fall to choke out and kill grass if not raked up and removed. This tool works fine on solid concrete and wooden patio surfaces, but not so well on grass. You really gotta press down hard to get the wires into the grass and to put enough pressure onto the acorns to get them to get collected. And even then it collects maybe 1/4 to 1/2 of the acorns for the amount of effort put in. If you roll too much, and too hard to get 100% of acorns picked up across a patch of grass, you start tearing out all the grass.Overall, i found that a good ol fashioned rake continues to be much more effective in my case. Either that or a tow behind sweeper such as the Agri Fab 42 inch model. I also have a bagger kit for my mower which works great for leaves but does nothing for picking up acorns.I do think that this tool and is much more successful for standard and larger acorns from Red Oak trees vs. the mini acorns that Pin Oak trees.Overall, i give this two stars because I think the price is a bit steep for the actual performance you get in its intended application.

Not great for acorns and caps
Not super effective for small acorns and caps. We have a lot of oak trees and wanted to get some of them out of the grass. Raking is more effective on all but hard surfaces. Caps hang up between wires and let smaller nuts out.

Amazing tool for picking up acorns from White Oaks
I LOVE LOVE LOVE this product! It is perfect for picking up acorns from White Oak trees. I also have the "small" size ~ which works well, but about a third of the white oak acorns in central NC are too small for the small, so the extra small is perfect!I actually use a gas blower to blow the acorns off the grass and onto the pinestraw, then up the acorns up on the pinestraw. You CAN pick them up on the grass with this tool, but if the acorn falls and seeds out (meaning it sprouts into the dirt amoung the grass, the nut wizard has a hard time picking it up. It is best to use this tool 2X a week while the acorns are dropping.
