Yes you can lock/unlock this lock from the inside without a key. It has a thumb turn on the inside and is locked/unlocked on the outside with a key.

Q: All the pic's show only the outside keyed entry knob. What does the inside knob look like? I need one with a turn button, also called a thumb turn.

You need the original key to reprogram it. You need a key for the lock before you can change it to another key. Odds of someone having the same "KEY" is highly unlikely.
