Retractable Badge Reel with Claw Clasp and Clip for Id Card Holders (6Pack)

I was excited to get a badge reel that would hold both my key card AND the actual keys I need for work. However, even with just two small keys (one cabinet key and one door key), this reel cannot handle the weight and it unspools and hangs down when I try to walk. Had to unclip the keys. Otherwise, looks fine and works as a normal badge reel. There is just no way the photo in the description of the mail carrier with that set of keys is using this item, it would be hanging all the way to the end of the thread.

These are horrible! The clip on the carabiner doesn't match up with the hook. I bought these to clip to a purse or belt loop and there is no way I am going to chance losing my badge. It is made where one hole is higher than the other so the clip sets crooked. Very disappointed in all the high reviews.

It's not giant by any means—it was just larger than I expected, and a bit heavier on my lanyard than I had anticipated. That said, it's no millstone weighing me down—I've adjusted fine, and it does EXACTLY what I wanted it to do: the badge reel allows me to use my key card to open doors at work without sticking my head into the line of fire should someone come through the other side.If its size means it's sturdier than a small one, and it'll give me years of good service, that's a trade I don't mind making.

... a cheap retractable badge holder to replace the ones I usually buy from the company store. While those would usually last a year or two, some wouldn't. So time to try something new.I have only been using one of these 5 days a week, of the 6 that came in the package, since Jan 9, 2020. No issues so far.I use the carabiner to slip it around a belt loop. It has a good amount of tension. The retractable cord part works smoothly and with the right amount of pull (to me). It feels better than the ones I get at work so I am quite happy. I use the little mini carabiner at the end of the cord. It too seems sturdy and seems to have the right amount of tension. I removed the plastic snap by spreading apart the triangle metal piece that holds the snap and mini carabiner and then squeezing it back together.Only time will tell how long these will hold up. I guess if they average a year or two, that works out better than the ones at work since these are actually cheaper. Based a month or so of use, it feels like they will hold up better than the ones I get at work.

Bought two sets of these, broke after about half a year. The cord just stopped retracting (I never pull it all the way out as I usually only need about 6 inches of give). Also noticed some wear on the cord near the end.The carabiner/claw part of the pulley encasement isn't very useful except maybe if you want to attach some keys to it. I wouldn't trust that part to stay closed though. There is another sort of carabiner/claw attached to the cord section that is nice if you want to attach something that needs to be pulled out more often.Other than that, it worked for about half a year before breaking. I suppose not the worst result for a retractable cord, but I'll be buying elsewhere for my next batch.

I love this badge reel! I wasn’t expecting a lot but I am very happy I ordered the pair. I have been using the same one for about a month now and have had no issues. It has a convenient slip on clip, or even an actual clip for using on your scrubs/uniforms, and even an extra hanging clip for your keys, or anything else you need quick access to. I use it for my spare locker key. I have had no problems with the reel, and itLooks like it’ll last a long time. No fraying so far and I use it constantly throughout my shift for badging in and out of locked doors, and for a pneumatic tube system. I’ll be getting more for coworkers!

Have is now about 3 wks and it functions very well. I needed something that helped me find my keys fast if I used my handbag or just wanted to take a walk and clip it on my wasteband. Glad to say it functions well in both cases. Note: I have 2 key cards, car key, and 3 standard keys. The retractable cord does hang down slightly because of the weight.

My intended use for these items was for to hold badges and for the retraction mechanism. It works great for that. From the initial purchase the item worked well and did its job. No real hassle to complain there. However, I came to realize that this badge holders cannot last very long. The fabric thread that covers a plastic film became to wear and eventually torn. This left the film out in the open until it failed too.The only good thing is that multiple items were sold in a set and swapping isn't too difficult. Though I would of expected a longer lifespan on these.
