EXCELLENT customer service
Durability: we just got this product so don't know the 'durability' yet.Battery Life: that will depend upon which batteries a person uses and how often they use the product.Ease of Use: it is easy to fill, easy to adjust the desired coarseness, and easy to use the 2 separate push buttons.Customer Service: the product arrived quickly after it was ordered. I could not get the outer chamber to open (even after watching the YouTube instruction video) so I sent an email to customer service (which seems to be the owner). She (Karina) responded almost immediately. She provided instructions to return the product. She said she would send a replacement as soon as they received the defective product, but the replacement product arrived 2 days later so she must have sent it right away rather than waiting to receive the defective product from me. Every time I sent an email question she answered almost immediately. I wish more companies were so responsive to their customers.Gift: this product was a gift for my daughter who is a chef who does a LOT of cooking and insists on freshly ground pepper in most of her dishes. She was pretty excited to get this electric salt/pepper mill; it will save wear & tear on her wrists.THANK YOU Kitchexcellence

Great Concept, Horrible Performance, Great Service
What a great idea. Two shakers in one and automatically powered. After I un-boxed it and found I needed to go online to familiarize myself with its operations it was a joy to use and I even bought one for my daughter and son-in-law. But then within a week of using, first the salt, and then the pepper sides slowed down and finally stopped (or ceased would be a better description). After replacing batteries four times and realizing that wasn't the issue, it seeded to me that the problem lay with insufficient lubrication of the moving gears or central shaft. I i found the appropriate small Phillips screwdriver and removed a layers of mounting pieces needed to expose, and remove the gears I found enough petroleum jelly in there to lubricate a car engine - -but that wasn't eh problem. THE PROBLEM WAS THE CENTRAL SHAFT THAT POKES OUT OT HE BODY THAT CAN'T BE OPENED WAS THE PART THAT WAS CEASING! Something within the core of this thing was binding up and not allowing it to turn. It's in the trash now because the return limit was YESTERDAY! Sometimes when things go wrong they just keep on going. Maybe a trip to Bed, Bath & Beyond in the future instead of buying on Amazon.Only a day after posting the original review above (and also one to Kitchenette) I received a reply from the seller saying they would be sending me a replacement that would arrive in two days. That was tow days ago and a replacement arrived today! So their original one-star rating, along with the fact the grinder is working straight out of the box, has tripled the rating to three-stars. If this replacement is still grinding pepper-corns and rock-salt in thirty days; then it's a better unit than the first one and I'll amend this review once more. If not, I'll still amend this amended review. Will the three star rating go up or back down? Only time, literally, will tell.

Great idea, but didn't last...
Purchased this three months ago after my Latent Epicure salt mill stopped working. Worked great for a month, although the lack of markings on the exterior results in frustration when trying to remember which direction to turn it to take it apart and refill it. And the cover on the bottom got left on more than once, resulting in a large amount of salt and/or pepper trapped that would be released at the wrong time and the wrong place. But after two months, the salt mill started slowing down and stopping. If I would alternate the salt and pepper mills, it would help, but eventually the salt mill would totally freeze. Today, it quit completely, and neither the salt nor pepper mill would work. I ordered another Latent Epicure set, and started taking the batteries and spices out of this one. Found all of the battery terminals corroded - after less than three months! Is it the proximity to salt that causes this corrosion? I had my Latent Epicure mill for over two years before it started jamming, and there was no visible corrosion, so I still don't know why it quit. But two years is a lot better than three months, so I'll go with the Latent Epicure set again.

Maybe mine was defective, but definitely not for single handed use.
I've had a mechanical salt/pepper grinder for years. You turn one way for salt and the other for pepper. When it finally broke I decided to try an electric version. It does its basic job of grinding but you have to hold it very carefully or the silver section detaches, dropping the rest of the mill in your plate/bowl. I purchased between Thanksgiving and Xmas so was pretty busy and didn't get around to returning. At first I thought this wouldn't be a big deal and I'd just hold it the correct way. It just keeps getting worse. I'm tired of cleaning food out of the gears after dropping it. So I'm giving this to goodwill and buying a different one.

A waste of time and money
This thing is a piece of crap. Took it out of the box and there were no written instructions. Had to go to an online video, which was a pain because I was making dinner and waiting to use it. Watched the video, assembled the grinder, put the batteries in, and filled it with salt and pepper. Pushed the salt button and it grinded for about 10 seconds and stopped. Pushed the pepper button and it did the same thing. My husband messed with it for several minutes trying to get it to work again. He finally got frustrated and walked away. We returned it for a refund and will not be ordering another.

Great gift!
This is my second time purchasing this product. This time it was for a friend's house warming gift. This is super handy because it holds and grinds both salt and pepper. The only reason i gave 4 stars instead of 5, is because with no instructions it was a little bit difficult figuring out how to open to put the salt and pepper in..and it requires several double A batteries
