This book is a great little intro book for someone who wants to know the core beliefs and practices of witchcraft. It's cost effective, made from a really great quality hardbound material. The pages resemble old time parchment, which add to the charm. There are tons of correspondence tables of deities, herbs, crystals, trees, planets and more. Skye keeps things really brief and covers various areas of witchcraft in small bits. There is also an entire section with spells of different kinds as well, for beginners to practice. What I really liked about the book is that she debunks some of the common myths about witchcraft and sets the record straight. So if you're just curious to know what this spiritual practice is all about, it's a great inexpensive book to pick up. The only thing I wish was different here, is that Skye keeps using the pronoune "she/her" in the book. This is annoying, since people of other genders and those not identifying with any gender practice witchcraft too. If you are able to look past this, then this is a great book to start with.

This book is absolutely wonderful. It is well written, intelligent, far far away from any ridiculous hocus pocus cliche and is truly enlightening. It gives a lot of information about how witchcraft helps you connect with your inner self and the environment around you. And above all, with nature. You take what you want and leave what you want for the book is not dogmatic at all. It is not religious or weird, it is truly inspirational and perfect for beginners too. I highly recommend it.

Great book when you are interested in learning more about magick but have no idea where to start or what exactly you should be expecting and how much you will need to invest in. It helps a lot to understand all the major aspects of witchcraft, but you will need to decide later on on your own path and study more specific books on topics that interest you particularly. But for beginners it is an excellent source of information. For people who have read a bit on witchcraft but have yet to perform any spell, it is also interesting, to celebrate the different seasons of the witch as well. I'm glad I found this as my first book on witchcraft!

Highly recommended, wonderful resource for beginner witches. EDIT: I EMAILED THE AUTHOR. She said: "I think the publisher was aiming for a "handmade" look, sort of like an old grimoire. I hope people won't be put off by that, but I appreciate you pointing it out. Glad you liked my book otherwise." THE BOOK IS NOT DAMAGED, IT'S DESIGNED THAT WAY. The negative out of the way first, the cutter for the pages didn't do their job right, as seen in my picture. However, that seems to be the case with many other reviews, so I'm not going to exchange it. I think it gives the book personality, and beside, if it's really bothering, I can trim it with a razor blade. After all, the grimoires of old certainly weren't straight edged! The book itself is wonderful, I had even bought it on Audible beforehand and listened to several hours before getting the physical book, with the tables and lists it was clearly reading off. The book is laid out sensibly, with a great wealth of reference material. It's informative while also telling you to reach your own conclusions. Take what you will from it, and leave the rest.
