It cores apples easily and efficiently which is its primary function. Does the job. Can't grumble about that.

Not sturdy, badly designed with loop on top and hollow handle, does core apples if you have the knack.

Easier to use a knife

I have found this product very useful for coring apples. The ends of the apple are best sliced off and it is even easier to do through thick slices. The cutting edge will then go right through the apple without too much difficulty. What is a problem, however, is the metal loop on the top of the handle. No doubt the intention of this is for hanging up the tool, but when forcing the tool into the apple it is very difficult to avoid this loop digging into one's hand rather painfully. I am going to remove it with my angle grinder and hopefully make a wooden end-piece to fit in the steel tube.
