Great learning tool
I'm reviewing the Kindle edition so at least one of my comments may not be applicable to print editions. I learned LR years ago using one of Kelby's books but when I decided to try Photoshop I chose books and video courses by other individuals. Perhaps the information is good, but for me, all of them were a waste of time and money and left me resigned to the fact that I'd never learn the program. Then I purchased this book, and now, a little more than half way through it, I'm making progress and learning. The one complaint I have is that, at least in the Kindle edition, the illustrations of smaller screen areas (for example a tool's options bar) aren't clear, and the text often doesn't discuss the various choices. Otherwise I'm very pleased with the style and detailed steps, and while I know the PS learning curve is steep for me, Scott's book will be a great reference for many of the hurdles.

Another Huge Success
Love Scott Kelby's Books! Practical, easy to follow and always filled with the latest, up to date information. So much is changing in technology/photography today. If you are using a DSLR, you MUST pay attention to all that the sensors/computer inside your camera offers when properly matched up with your computer/iOS/PC and the various software products available. Photoshop and Lightroom are cutting edge and maintain relationships with the major manufacturers of not just our cameras but also the sensors, lenses and color processors etc. Scott Kelby makes it his business to BE IN THE KNOW so that YOU CAN BE TOO! He and his team of Kelby One instructors are brilliant in Kelby One books and YouTube and of course their membership program but this book is your GO TO. Cannot say enough.

I can use Photoshop?
I have never used or been instructed on how to use, Photoshop so the program is a mystery to me. This book cuts down the issues to focus only on the portions of Photoshop that we would use as photographers. Neat! I have some of Scott's other Lightroom How To's and I enjoy all of them. This one is no exception. Great instruction.

Perfect Addition for Lightroom Userd
The information is well organized and easy to follow. The author omits information on techniques that photographers do not use and this streamlines the learning process. Examples of techniques use photography situations,so that the presentation is relevant. I now use Photoshop along with Lightroom in processing my photographs and the results are quite improved. Highly recommended.

Great orientation for new Photoshop users, with one big gap
I bought this as an experienced Lightroom user with very little Photoshop knowledge. I needed a basic orientation. I had a problem picture – a mis-mounted lens hood shadowing two corners of the shot that otherwise was my best of particular place – that I hoped Photoshop could fix. But I didn’t know enough of the basics (and the vocabulary) to get started. I didn’t even know enough to understand what I was reading on the web and in Adobe’s help files. This moderately sized paperback (3/8 inch / 1 cm thick) did a nice job of providing what I needed. By working through Kelby’s series of examples using the downloaded images, I got a tour of the program. I saw some useful procedures. Some explain the details of what going on, but others are just recipes: do this and it works. You are on your own to generalize. For my purposes that was enough. I came out of the book knowing the program’s vocabulary and basic ideas (mostly – read on) and was ready dig into other sources. I managed to apply what I learned to successfully patch that image I mentioned earlier about a week after the book arrived in the mail.So for me, a newcomer to Photoshop needing the get-acquainted tour, all was good. Why not five stars?I noted above that Kelby *mostly* supplied the basic ideas. There was a gap. I really wish Kelby had introduced adjustment layers. They seem absolutely central to the structure of Photoshop, providing the mechanism to iterate on a couple of different adjustments, adjusting one after applying or adjusting another. I needed that ability to iterate for my real-life clean-up problem. Of course, the good news is that Kelby gave me enough background that I could go learn about these. But still, this seems an omission of something pretty basic. (Expanding the existing, very limited discussion of smart objects and filters would fit in with this too.)I’d also note the book doesn’t quite live up to its back-cover promises. There I read, “Scott tells you flat-out which tools to use, which techniques work best, which ones to avoid, and why.” Not really. This is more an example/recipe book than a “why” book with that sort of larger picture.

A Must-Have Book for Lightroom Users...
I found the first edition of this book invaluable, and the 2nd edition even more so. Excellent examples, clear directions, downloadable photos so the user can follow Scott's steps exactly and on the same image and get exactly the same results -- a really valuable learning tool. Same high quality pub as all Scott's books. Worth every penny.

Scott Kelby is the Master
No matter how many books I try on photography and processing, I always come back to Scott Kelby. He is the absolute best at making difficult tasks make sense. This book is no exception. I don’t need to know everything about Photoshop, just what I can use to improve my photos. And Scott Kelby gets that.

Good, but somewhat outdated.
Should had looked at publishing date - 2018. Five years can be a long time in the software world and some things are no longer relevant. In general a wellmade book and most things work.
