The ads cite 1200 yards and 1200 feet. it can't be both, so is the range 1200 feet or is it 1200 yards?

Can you purchase just the battery pack to replace the one if broke?

So it doesn't come with a rechargeable battery, you can use 8 D batteries.. but I buy the Technical Pro Rechargeable Megaphone battery which is compatible with this model

When you take the microphone off the hook, do you still need to press the trigger to speak, or can you set the megaphone down?

you can set it down but you have to press the thing on the side of the mic to speak.

Build quality has improved

This is my second purchase of this model. The old one survived a bit of abuse and several years use. It looks like they improved overall build quality. The rear control panel label seems more secure(old one had to be taped down after a year. They battery compartment seal is no longer an o-ring that can be lost it's more secure. Sound quality is about the same. If you're using this for music know it won't be the same quality as a party speaker. It's not supposed to be.These are great for sporting events, parades, etc I use mine as a loudspeaker for events in my Grinch themed car and it works great!

Check the Battery Diagram

I love my Pyle Megaphone, but I did have an immediate frustration. When I inserted the batteries according to the battery diagram, it did not work.I inspected the lid structure, there was a different diagram just the opposite of the one glued in at the battery compartment. When I reversed the batteries according to the lid, the megaphone worked as promised. Once I corrected the battery arrangement the megaphone was super!

Pure trash

Zero stars if I could. Needed for an event. It didn’t work, ordered a replacement and it didn’t work either. Absolutely trash

Loud, Light, and had SD slot

Comes with carry strap and even though needs C batteries - it is not that heavy. PAY ATTENTION to the way the batteries have to go in. The "+" and "-" signs are on the flip up lid, not inside the battery compartment.
